There's going to be a sacrifice, either Dany or Jon, but why wouldn't it be possible? We've grown so accustomed to unexpected things happening that we even feel like we don't want (deserve) a good ending anymore because that's the way the world is. Someone will always pay for having conflict with someone else. I don't know what I want the ending to be actually. What if Cersei actually prevails through it all? It's just going to be weird either way to have it all resolved because somehow it won't seem satisfactory either way. The struggle needs to be endless..

I don't know if this is actually true but I like to think that - she already knew what they where bringing - she knew an aliance right of the bat would be unbelievable - she knew that the noble fool the son of Ned Stark would not accept her offer So she put on a big show with Jamie unknowingly in the supporting role. And they all buy it. And what she gained is the ability to openly march her armies wherever she wants.
After the scene between them ended with ''you are pregnant'' I really tough they was gonna be something with that (a deal to put the child as Danny heir would have been a nice idea, tying it to Tyrion love for his family after all. Because right now I really don't understand why Tyrion, Varis and the other would believe this sudden change of mind out of nowhere.
I mean even if she was pregnant it doesn't change the fact that right now if they defeat the dead she is most likely gonna get BBQ alive with her child, even if she was a reasonable person it's still a pretty risky/ borderline stupid thing to do.

I would've liked it a lot better if the frostwyrm had blazed a trail through the pile of rubble for all the undead to follow. Like wheover said it before, dropping thousands(millions?) of tons of ice and snow down, and it doesn't leave a single boulder in a very convenient path.

Sorry, i don't see that at all. The show has made Dany believe she actually need this "alliance" more then Cersei. No deal seemed to be super hard on them, so much that they were willing to sacrifice Tyrion to negotiate. Cersei didn't need to completely turn them down at once. What did she get from that? How much believability do you think did she get and how quickly will that fall apart if she doesn't do what she has been saying. She is risking that Dany changes her mind out of frustration and simply attacks. She gets nothing out of laying hard to get. And her enemies won't suddenly trust her just because she might be pregnant.

The world has turned everyone into pessimists sadly. Just enjoy the ride until it's over. Stop overthinking everything and denying yourself the enjoyment one of the best shows ever made, regardless on how you feel it's still the truth.

Your argument is always used everywhere, "hey lol you think arya being more or less fine after being stabbed is unrealistic?? Dragons dude lol". It will never be a legit point, i would hope people will finally realize that.

Random thoughts about the season finale:
- Littlefinger's death almost felt like a blow of mercy. Over three seasons we have been watching the most cunning and legitimately dangerous character on the show degrade to a raving senile hag who couldn't possibly trick a school kid. The amount of disgrace the writers have brought to Littlefinger and Tyrion is absolutely disgusting, it's like they tortured them to madness before killing off. At least our dear lord Baelish won't suffer this anymore. Goodnight, sweet prince, we will remember your earlier exploits.
- I did not understand the timing of showing Jon and Dany fucking RIGHT AFTER Bran revealed Jon to be her nephew, but giggled once or twice. Was that supposed to send a message? Should we all go see our aunts? On a side note, what the hell even happened? Jon was just like "hey here's your cabin, let's fuck?" That scene was really puzzling.
- Special mention of shots of Tyrion with a really sad face as he realises what's going on in that cabin of hers. Couldn't stop laughing there. First Jorah, now our dear dwarf? Can we maybe have Ser Bronn of Blackwater enter the friendzone next season?
- Ned Stark got his head chopped off for what he saw as an act of mercy. Robb got murdered at the Red Wedding for what seemed like a few minor mistakes. Daenerys bloody Targaryen lost a damn dragon at a lake of Nobody Cares about and got away with it. If GRMM was still writing this, the game of thrones would have been over that instant. I feel like people do more and more stupid things and the laws of cause and effect stopped working.
- Cersei's reaction kinda made the whole plot of the season completely meaningless. I don't understand, the only significant consequence of the whole thing is the wall being destroyed. Had that been the point all along? The only way to make it worse would be to make the wight decay before being brought south, and for a split second I had hopes it would end like that. Sigh.

The fact that we didn't see the end of Cersei and Tyrion talking, and the last scene with Tyrion on the boat looking at Jon going into Daenerys room, makes me suspect that *maybe* there is some small chance of some twist involving Tyrion..
I don't expect him to betray, but who knows.. is it possible that he's realizing at some level that he, a Lannister, is supporting a Stark + Targaryen reign? And that his house will be wiped out as a result.. ?
who knows, who knows..

About the NK... Probably just a speculation, but... What if the night king actually knew that the only way of braking the wall is dragon fire ? Then he knew when the dragons will be born and started his march in the right time. Then knew that 'The expendables' mission will happen and that dragon will come to him. "Gamble on getting a dragon" doesn't seem like something that Martin will write.
Entirely possible that NK has the ability to feel or see the resurrection of dragons and activate his army.

I am wondering how next season will go. Personally, I think it would anticlimactic if our good guys have to defeat the night king then turn around and deal with Cersei. Sure, she's been around since the beginning and she's played by one of the better actresses they have, but it's still a fantasy setting. The night king is better final villain material.
However, I can't imagine how she can be taken out before the night king. Her enemies are all going north to fight the night king. She has no reason to go north. The only possible threat is a Jaime betrayal but he has left King's Landing. Same with Cleganebowl. There's no path to those two fighting until after the night king threat has been taken care of and the northern forces go back south to deal with Cersei.

There is also the fact that romance ends really badly in Game of Thrones, so I expect Jon and Dany to have a rough time next season. I don't think one of them is making it to the end.

Yeah they should have showed the scene where the night king was planning with his engineers on how he ensured the demolition process doesn't leave huge obstacles behind. HBO really falling behind in quality this season.

It might be like a the hobbits deal with Saruman type situation where she causes relatively small scale but still noticeable damage, and they're like "dude we just destroyed the (second) greatest evil in all of creation and now we gotta deal with this shit?"

Bringing this one back from yesterday:
On August 28 2017 12:28 Plansix wrote: I like how they dropped 15 skyscrapers worth of material onto the ground in the most controlled demolition in the history of the world and make a nice, clear path for the army of the undead to talk across. The Night King has been planning that move for centuries. Got three PHDs in structural engineering and thermodynamics. Night King, master pilot, putting in the work.
Also:
Bran - We must tell Jon right away, no one knows but me.
Also Bran - The fans have shipped this to hard, we cannot undo what is already been done.
Writers to Bran - We agree, there are no take backs.
I laughed at the wall scene, mostly because there was snow on the path they were going to talk across. I was like "Come on, it isn't even snowing! Make it ice or something."

I thought yesterday's episode was good in a nutshell. I think it's pretty clear that when D&D started writing the season they thought of how they wanted it to end first and then went back to make it all come together.
The only weak scenes in the episode were the Theon ones to me. I understand why they wanted the one where he talks to Jon in the throne room since it is basically Jon describing himself before the big "reveal" but just not sure we are all that emotionally invested in Theon anymore.

+ Show Spoiler + It looks like Game of Thrones’ Jon and Dany will have a lot of cabin time to themselves and plenty of idle days on their hands — much like audiences awaiting the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, which might not return until 2019.
An unconfirmed report by the Hollywood Reporter suggests that HBO plans to extend the hiatus between the just-concluded seventh season and the final season up to 16 months or more. The reason is an extended production shoot, which is reportedly scheduled to begin this October and last through August 2018 — or later.
If true, it means you shouldn’t expect season eight until more than a year from now, in 2019.
The primary cause for the long production timeline is apparently the need to work out both a shooting schedule and a separate special effects schedule. The complicated on-location filming that Game of Thrones is known for has grown even more complicated since winter finally arrived in Westeros, requiring chillier climes (and more filming in Iceland) and ultimately causing the seventh season to be delayed several months, debuting in July instead of the show’s typical April.
Season eight will need to incorporate not only wintery locations but Game of Thrones’ most elaborate special effects yet — think Dany’s dragons facing their zombie ice-dragon counterpart in a blue-flamed standoff.
Of course, it also can’t have escaped HBO’s notice that the delay of season seven only helped increase fan anticipation; the ratings for Game of Thrones’ seventh season were the show’s highest ever, and after a twist-filled finale, viewers will no doubt be clamoring to find out how the epic series finally resolves.
