They attacked at night, but they didn't start right at the front, while Stannis attacked the front of the forest. Manse had no reason at all in the world to expect anyone to attack. He knew pretty much that the Crows couldn't go offensive against him, he was sat doing nothing. Stannis was able to attack because Manse was way off guard, and his army was behind him in their old camps, while he was at the front keeping an eye around and preparing for the next assault. Makes perfect sense that hardly anyone was around and that it was an easy battle against only a few wildlings. Plus horses are way faster than people, so any people behind them in their camps would never make it to help with Manse's defence. they did run, see my quote in the post above User was temp banned for this post.

Just from watching the show, I would assume that she was actually spying on Tyrion the whole time (which reminds me of the time Jaime set him up with a prostitute without telling him). Because the other option is that Shae is just one of the dumbest characters ever, and that's not cool. No. Why would she be dumb? She'd be a whore who manipulates men to her advantage. I imagine she had a better life with Tyrion in King's Landing than she had whoring around in a soldier camp like she was when we first met her. Pretty young manipulative bitch hooking up with rich men - it has been known to happen ;-) Also didn't understand why Arya was *so* hateful vs the Hound. I thought she wanted him dead, no him having a very crual and painful death. I agree. She seems quite full of herself there. What did he do other than killing the stupid butcher's boy, who for all he knew attacked the prince? How about Ned Stark chopping off a poor fellow's head because he dared to run from a zombie massacre? The hound's speech about how he should have fucked Sansa actually is another point in his favor, because he didn't. Just like he never mistreated Arya, but helped her about 25 times to survive her own killing spree. Didn't he also protect her from Brienne who he thought worked for the Lannisters? So what's her problem with him? I am disappoint. ![]()

Shall the Hound remain above Brienne in rank because he might have been better in optimal conditions in his prime? We're kind of out of known fighters anyway. Barristan Selmy, Brienne, Jon Snow, Tormund the wildling, Grey Worm. The Kingsguard thugs(which all combined suck ass according to Barristan)

It's not unheard of to hear of a woman being able to take a bloody good shot from a man and still be standing. If he didn't hit her in the jaw or squarely on the temples then there's no reason for her to be knocked out.

The cartoony violence is really a trend lately on GoT, like Jon Snow's head being smashed on an anvil and him just spitting once and being fine, or Hodor being hit in the face with a hammer and just taking a scratch.

His infectious bite wound on the neck and travelling such a long distance while killing and stealing took its toll thats like saying that the Viper if he wasnt showboating would wreck the Mountain. or that Ned would wreck Jamie if he didnt have to first kill a bunch of Lannister flunkies.

They really need to keep their action tropes in check, they've been going crazy the last couple of episodes. That was never the draw of the show so I'm not sure why they're so bent on LOTR-izing it at this stage.

I'd say you abuse your speed, and the fact you always strike downwards with a weapon (costs less strenght) which makes swords and spears superior weapons on horseback.

I then think he threatened the ever-living shit out of her and basically said "My dick or your life" along with needing to testify at the trial. When tyrion found her, she knew what she had done was unforgivable and panicked for her own life, hence the "ima stab u biatch!" reaction. She knew damn well how much tyrion cared for her safety when he sent her away and soon learnt just how serious shit was when she was caught by tywin, but it was already too late, all she could do was try to save her own skin. I think tywin and shae playing this game from the very beginning is pretty outlandish/absurd and would ruin a large part of the storyline for me.

I'd say that most weapons are decent on horseback just because the horse gives you a huge advantage over foot soldiers. A flail, however, might be hard to time correctly and easy to injure your horse or leg with. I'd rather have a sword or spear. About Shae: some seem to think Shae was with Tywin all along. But could she not just be a straight up stupid whore who met Tyrion by chance, actually fell in love with him, then got jealous and bitchy? And when she was discovered she betrayed Tyrion because she was paid or forced to do it, or even out of her own hurt feelings.
