The mountain just wants to 'smash the beetles' or kill people left and right. Beaches of dead bodies, as Tyrion says. And though Oberyn was directly affected by it, he doesn't know exactly WHY Gregor Clegane wants to smash so many goddamn beetles. There may not be a reason, other than it being his nature. But still, a man with more 'wits' and 'knowledge' will wonder why he kills things with such a lack of discretion. Yet, it just seems to be the way the mountain is wired. Kill first, ask questions never. I don't know, but it's an interesting idea, for me at least.
I'd put it more about power.
Tyrion exerted his power over the one person he felt superior to by studying him like he was an animal, his cousin exerted his power over the beetles as that was the only thing he could exert power over. both used their subjects as an escape from a world that hated them. tyrions main strength being his mind, his weakness being hisbody, his cousin the opposite.
and more importantly
Pedro Pascal is a 40 year old man with the body of a 20 year old.
Never forget that Orson the Beetle slayer, was in the end killed by the kick from a mule. I still very much see Oberyn in Orson. So obsessed with something that only he cared that much about. Then getting killed in the blink of an eye.

I do not believe a blow that knocks his teeth out would be much dampened by a helmet. Then again not drinking wine might have let him keep a clearer head though

sure the mountain got stabbed by a spear, but like he was wear armor and hes pretty buff, maybe with some medicene from the old perv he'll be alright i cant imagine him not being hurt before in fights, probably had sword stabs and what not. i think he might live and maybe a bron mountain fight? (hoping to see jamie fight but T_T his hand ) plus the mountain has like shown up for like 3 eps lol even by obyern status hes got at least 5 more.
Yeah, it's more like "none of the above". Hound is wounded/sick, the rest are not really scary fighters. Or maybe Ramsay if he fights naked again. That seems to make you immune to injuries for some reason.
With Sandor wounded its brienne hands down. She won the tournament hosted by Renly wich probably featured the finest warriors from The Reach and the Stormlands.

Voted Jaime as troll pick. Mountain is not dead yet. You lack important contenders, Thoros of Myr and his buddy from the band without banner. I even think Stannis might be a good fighter even though he has never stood yet on a battlefield in the story. Also Yara and Theon Greyjoy or Ramsay "topless" Bolton.
Also I think Bronn would fight dirty to win. Like when Jaime and Ned's guard friend fought in season 1 outside Littlefingers' brothel and they crossed swords then bam dagger to face. Bronn strikes me as that sort of fighter. And Jon Snow is disappointing as a fighter (in the TV show), he's always barely surviving.
