Sansa and Arya are at King's Landing with Ned. Robb remained at Winterfell because there always must be a Stark there. Theon Greyjoy is with Robb at the moment at Winterfell.

I have faith they will do everything great, and so far I have not been let down (except of course for not seeing enough of ghost ) Writers don't get any say in the adaptations lol. It's completely up to the producers/directors. They only brought GRRM in because they wanted to hear what he had to say. You're talking as if they had to actually consult the author and get his approval for anything. Truth is they didn't. GRRM loses all right to interference the day he sold the rights. That's what selling rights means. And Joffrey did hate Sansa in the books after he got bit by the dog.
They must have consulted him regarding the how to map the progress of the entire series. Since compromises have to be made and they had to make sure the right plotlines moves appropriately and which things could be cut. Because there must have been things where nobody except GRRM is carrying in his head they have to worry about, namely the the impact on future books. Granted its still long ahead.

Watching through this episode for the second time and I must agree with the general consensus, Maisie Williams is amazing. Arya's my favourite character in the books, and while I imagined her differently, this actor is bringing her to life in a masterful way.

GRRM is actually writing for the show, so it's not like he's out of the loop in any way what so ever. He's probably realistic about the whole process though, and willing to sacrifice a few things here and there.

As far as I understood it they are in constant contact. GRRM is a former television writer and has written one episode for this season and will write one for next. Ultimately he only gives input but the producers have the freedom to make their decisions and he refrains from telling the actors how they should play. So he is neither completely out of the picture nor too much involved. And there has been stuff he advised against but let the producers do it anyway.
As for Maisie Williams as Arya, since everybody loves her so much here is a good interview: I would say it is spoiler free but if you want to make sure you only need to skip the question: "HmR: What are you looking forward to filming most, if further series of the show are commissioned?"

Damn the books are so awesome, makes me judge the show to hard ^^.
But the 3rd episode was actually better than the 1st/2nd. Most of the actors are really good also, Gotta love Tyrion

Thanks!
Yes, it has the green copy of Storm of Swords which is the complete, 1216 page one.

I would like them to make a spinoff show that follows only tyrion. Fucking dinklage needs his own show.

The whole thing of creating this black haired baby the she lost isn't in the books, and for good reason. + Show Spoiler +The Cersei of the books would NEVER have a baby by Robert. Their marriage was entirely a political maneuver, there was never any love there - unlike in the show, where they're hinting at a story of lost love. Lena Headey has even stated that she thinks Cersei loved Robert at one point, which just shows she doesn't understand her character - or at least not the character of the books I do not agree with you. + Show Spoiler +Cersei states (in book 4 I think) that she did at one point consider her marriage a real one until she learned that Robert still loved Lyanna and didn't care for her. At that point she became the Bitch Queen of Westeros.
+ Show Spoiler +I agree with you but I have only read the 1st Book . When Ned confronted her about Jaime I got the impression she loved Robert up until their 1st night together as Man and Wife where Robert cried out Lyanna's name

I liked the episode but the part i didn't like was the deviation from the book when Dany doesn't tell her brother to walk. It's one of her guards instead. In the book I felt it showed more about how Dany is growing up and separating herself from her brother when she tells him he can walk. Instead it looks like she still needs to be taken care of by her guards.

I only saw the TV series and i think it was fine the way it is.
There is just not enough time spent on Dany to do such a thing yet, it would feel really weird like:
Step 1: Unsecure Girl gets married to big bad barbarian on behalf of her brother. Step 2: Unsecure Girl roflstomps her brother out of nowhere.
It would seem way to sudden from what you get when watching the series.

I don't know. Did you not feel she was gaining her own strength and coming into her own in episode 2? When she ends up being the one dominating Drogo in the bedroom didn't that show you her growing up? I'm just curious of your perspective since you state you haven't read the books.

The episode was the one that I liked the least so far, but only because I felt they stuffed too many things into one hour, which they would have to at some point since there are so many things to be covered. My non-reader friend so far thinks this is on the same level as Spartacus and Camelot, kind of typical fantasy-ish stories. The following episodes are the most likely ones that will make her change her mind and turn this show into a must-watch for her, IMO. I remember I was pretty meh at first when I started reading the book until the story picked up towards the end, I think this might be the same for some viewers. Hopefully those who are still on the fence about the series will continue watching (and buy the books!).
My favorite part was Harry Lloyd going crazy and the Kingsguard scenes, including Ned's talk with Jaime.
If they ever considered making a spinoff, I'd really like to see a mini-series or a movie dealing with Aerys Targaryen's downfall.

Dominating? EP2 starts: Shes unhappy with her situation. A slave/fomer whore tells her, that she can influence her Husband and gain some control over her live when she pleases him better in Bed. She tries it and her Husband actually seems ok/pleased with it (i felt like he thought she wanted to denie him when "turning" and therefore turned her back again on her first attempt)... EP2 ends.
There was like 0 character developement in EP 2 aside from her trying to improve her situation . The effects of this were not shown in EP2 at all.
The things that showed that she now was more secure and especially more aware of her power all happened/were shown in EP3 right before the "incident" with her brother...

I'm enjoying the tv show more right now as I grew tired of his writing style in the latter books. Probably due to reading all of them right after each other. I just want more wolves!
One of my favorite parts of the entire saga are the wolves and they're close relationship to the Stark childrin. + Show Spoiler +Which is why I was so pissed off when they all started to get killed off
I've heard that they had troubles with the wolves during filming and cgi could have been a huge failboat but I can't enjoy the show as much when I'm just wishing for the story to include them more.
+ Show Spoiler + I'm expecting every scene now with Bran to have a dream with his wolf and I can't wait until they include this. Hopefully in the next episode.
