Alien turtles.. Megan Fox as April... This is a fuckin' disaster. LOL. He better have one hell of a script to make this even viable.... I still doubt it.. The only way the Alien thing would even work is if it was an "alien inspired--Human produced mutagen". If they are just an alien species of turtles.. that's just horrible and retarded, and I really hope Megan fox doesn't fuck up the roll of April, who was supposed to be their semi-intelligent levelheaded human friend. I don't see megan fox as level headed at all, she just screams bimbo through and through. I'm a sad panda guys.

The only redeeming qualities of the BayFormers is the modelling and animation of the robots(which Bay had nothing to do with, obviously) which is unbelievably well done. If you look at the animations during fights and you know some Maya or whatever, your jaw drops at how freaking amazing they are.

Storywise? Yeah not so much. This TMNT reboot looks to be worse then GI Joe reboot.

Whoopi is playing April's boss, Burne. This guy:

Not only is she playing a white character, but she's playing a male who is married to a turtle-hating wife. I guess they're making them lesbian or something.

The director almost always gets all the credit for a movie doing well, so if a movie is terrible they should take the brunt of the hatred and blame in my opinion.

Doesnt change the fact that it is Michael Bay with questionable casting. Explosions and sunsets shouldn't exist in the movie, so I dont know how he is going to do it.

To be fair Bad Boys and Armageddon were both good movies and they're rated really poorly on RT. You can't really go by the RT ratings because they rarely ever match the actual viewer ratings. For example, Bad Boys II got like 20% from critics but 80% from the public. If you're going to use Rotten Tomatoes as a basis for how good a movie is you need to completely disregard the critic reviews because they're worthless.

That being said, his recent movies have been terrible and the script for this movie shows he has no idea what he's doing with it.

And yet, every Michael Bay movie seems to have certain elements to the writing, acting, and production that are specific and unique to Bay. You can tell a Bay-movie script without having seen the film.

Directors tend to have the highest-level of control over a film outside of the studio producing it. Directors are involved in the writer and casting. They are in overall creative control of the film. Until and unless the studio decides to interfere in the production, the director is in charge.

And studios don't tend to interfere in the production of movies by successful directors with a proven history of making money. This is why James Cameron got carte blanc to do whatever he wanted with Avatar, and nobody at the studio is regretting that decision. Or if they are, they soothe their regrets in gold-plated bathtubs. The cash cow goes moo.

This level of control only increases when the director is also the producer. Because now, not only is the director involved in the casting, writing, and so forth, they have direct authority over it. They now effectively represent the studio in on-set matters.

Every redeeming element of Bad Boys comes from the cast, not Bay. Everything good that that movie does is because it has Will Smith and Martin Lawrence riffing on each other.

Also, the "actual viewer ratings" for Transformers 2 were 68%, a movie that even you say was "terrible". So it seems rather more likely that the "actual viewer ratings" are complete shit, and the critical ratings are a more effective measure for the quality of a film. That doesn't mean they don't get it wrong

im prepared to give the whole thing a chance but what the actual fuck? Yes, the story we know and everyone came to love and fully accept which l;ends itself to all kinds of brilliant training/filmaking/finding themselves bullshit . .but no . .aliens, they can do loads of shit which they only fully discover as the film goes on, oh i didnt know i could mindjack just before we nearly all die . . . yea . . seems legit. you go michael. WE really need to just boycott the movie and try nard to get everyone to do it, its the only way you can teach these people . . . when they realise you cant eat money theyll also stop fucking with our childhood memories and just stick to the fucking script with cleverer revamps

But while all three of those films have already released first look images and even trailers, one film that we remain all but completely in the dark about is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Directed by Wrath of the Titans' Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay's company, Platinum Dunes, the upcoming summer blockbuster has kept the internet patiently waiting for the first official look at the new adolescent, evolved, martial arts-fighting reptiles. It turns out that the wait has been just a bit too long, as now we are getting our first impressions of the new TMNT design from a cheap Halloween costume.

The fan site TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com managed to get their hands on the image you see at the top of this article, which they say is a 2014 Michelangelo costume that is based on the look of one of the four lead characters in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Liebesman and Bay are dreadful, but the costume design actually seems pretty good. Shredder looks incredible, and aside from being roided out, the Turtles actually look good. I think the biceps and shoulders need to be toned down a lot though (they're supposed to be acrobatic after all), but still. It could just be Leonardo's armor making it seem out of proportion.

Shredder looks cool, though maybe too stylized/busy. The Turtles themselves are wayyy too buff in the chest/shoulders.
