It's hard to say what Rift is about, it's kind of all over the place. There's the conflict between Aang's air nomad traditions and the new technological developing world, there's Toph's personal struggle, there's the spirit stuff. I personally didn't like it at all. The Promise and The Search were great though. | ||

And there was also no Toph whatsoever. I mean come on, literally the thing everyone is waiting for and they give us this. Doesn't take a genius to predict what sort of reception it'll probably receive. | ||

Sucks budget cuts forced a flash back episode though. | ||

I know if budget cuts did that, I think that they are just telling the stories they want within the season. The problem with these very narrative driven seasons is that it can be hard to fit other interesting stories within the season. Flashbacks are an old trick to solve that problem. Unless the youtube video specifically says budget cuts did it. I haven't been able to watch it. | ||
