Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.
Well the show is kind of set in the south, which isn't really know for it's intellectualism. Preview for next episode has them strolling in the woods at night and chit chatting. Wtf? That can't be very smart.
I really like the new characters. Simple folks with strong morals. I think the show is a lot more enjoyable if you know rural people like that in real life. I like all the male characters, but the 3 female characters need to die.
Its starting to become quite clear why the show producer Frank Darabont was replaced halfway through production of season 2. After the beginning of season 1 im becoming less and less interested. However it has zombies so its worth sticking around for awhile.
Lets all just admit that the black woman (i dont even know her name. ) was the only character anyone gave a fuck about and we all wish she was still in season 2. I was sad when she choose to stay, but the writers apparently wanted her as a side character. She came across as a mother figure.
Watched the episode, still amazed at what everyone is bitching about tbh. This isnt a zombie movie, go watch days later or RE or dawn. This is a drama set in a zombie apocolypse, get used to it.
Oh im with the main group complaining, suddenly im 50 yards away complaining to ...A WALKER?! OMGG!!
There are, exactly SIX bullet fragments in this child! i can see because im god, however i need lots of difficult surgical equipment before i can remove them.
Yeah, it's pretty awesome what they've done with Daryl. Thought he was going to be the stereotypical hick who only cares about himself... which is still mostly true, but some how he's endearing.
I'm sorry, but I would still like an explanation or reasoning as to how/why all the walkers have suddenly lost their sense of smell. I feel like it's a pretty basic need to know what the zombies are capable of, since fearing them is one of the central themes of the show. In season one, our group wouldn't even set foot outside the door of their safehouse because the walkers would smell them.
The highway scene in season two with walkers walking right past--sure, ok, I'll buy the smell of all the cars, or even T-Dog's blood, was the overpowering smell. But what about at the end of this current episode... the group of walkers were really more interested in a bunch of pretty flares? Shouldn't they have been able to smell Shane and Otis from just the other side of a car?
Again, I'm not coming into the thread to whine and say how much I hate the show... I will still be watching next week. =P But, if things are inconsistent, I feel like it's just lazy writing and the show loses credibility.
getting back on track after that terrible first episode. wasnt very good imho, but solid.
im glad they are bringing some new characters into the show. i would still like to see an antagonist though, maybe that redneck who cut his arm off will come back? also i would like to see some sort of hope for rescue or cure, so that there is a mayor motive in this besides surviving as long as possible. also i hope some characters will die, because they bring nothing to the story and because zombies hardly feel like the overwhelming threat anymore as they were supposed to be.
The problem with the show now is they fired the old director, or he quit idk, because they asked him to make the new season for half the money that it cost to make the first season, and make it twice as many episodes. Half the cost, twice as many episodes. They were told to use less zombies and whatever to reduce the cost. Sucks.

I thought the same thing. Though, you have to figure...As time goes on, the zombies are eventually going to start to rot and stuff. They may be raised from the dead, but they are still human bodies. Maybe they lose their senses after time goes by?

The only person you can blame for that is Matthew Weiner, the guy who created Mad Men. Both are on AMC and Weiner refused to sign a contract for two more seasons of Mad Men unless he got the money he wanted which is reported to be in the range of 25-30 million dollars.
Even Breaking Bad was close to moving to another network because AMC wanted to make the last season 8 episodes instead of 13 because they wanted to shoot it on a lower budget. Luckily Gilligan managed to negotiate a decent deal for 16 episodes and it stays on AMC.
Daryl has been fucking amazing. The simplicity and directness with his character are such a treat to watch. Andrea needs to die or grow a pair. Seriously, stop being so useless. I miss Glenn's witty banter from season 1. I understand this is supposed to be some kind of drama show, but he used to contribute to the group by being that source of lightheartedness the survivors need to stay strong. Now he's offering nothing. He's just falling farther and farther into a minor character role.
At ^ I know Glenn is starting to fade away and it makes me sad because the way he is becoming so marginalised in the cast has got me thinking he's gonna get fucked up soon. Maybe T-Dog will do something retarded when Glenn takes him to the farm. Daryl is super baller and its great to see.
But all the women, oh my... I wish all of them will just die, whenever they open their mouths they just go full retard and will Andrea please stop being a stupid bitch to Dale, I wouldn't trust her with a pair of scissors let alone a damn gun. Maybe he won't give it to her because he wants to get her even more pissed so she will get herself killed like we almost saw in this episode? Wishful thinking maybe...
Seems like Daryl and his brother were buying some of Walter White's meth kekeke. But overall much better episode than the last and hopefully it will only get better.
I like Daryl in the same way that I liked Sawyer from lost the 2nd time I watched the first season. Badasses who don't do dumb shit all the time nor whine about stupid stuff. Also he hasn't accidentally slit his wrists and gotten blood poisoning. wtf!
That last scene displaying the 2 guys trapped behind a wall of zombies makes me wonder; The guys are standing there, doing nothing but saying "dammit". iI I were them, I'd equip a melee weapon such as a fucking knife, and start fragging right away. If I recall correctly that's about the only scene so far that left me kind of puzzled. Edit: oh yeah in the first episode of season 2, that scene where the black guy litteraly cuts his arm in twice by accident was pretty exaggerated too in my opinion.
Anyway, how's it going to end? It's probable that some of them will survive, and they'll go to a safe haven, maybe find a cure, repopulate earth. On that case I'd be a bit disappointed, because I'd prefer it to end in pure tragic fashion, aka everyone dies.
I think the black guy (ugh, can't get the cast's names straight) is going to turn into a walker halfway to the farm house, who's with me? Blood poisoning my ass..;
Right now Daryl and Dale are my favorite characters. They're usually the competent ones behind obviously shane/rick. Especially Daryl's character could have quite the story arc.
I think Dale will become more and more of a leader if the groups continue to split as they have.
