Hes way overacting and needs to tone it down. What? lol Andrew's performance in TWD is one of it's few saving graces during sh*tty episode stretches. He's always great. How could anyone "overact" in that situation? hahaha On December 03 2013 22:27 Fulla wrote: So who's the traitor? With the whole rats business. Is it really just one of the young girls? Probably. Anyone else doesn't really make sense Andrew Lincoln overacts, because he has a permanenlty shocked and agonized look on his face. Last episode was okay, because there was some justification for being worried, shocked or agonized, but even when he's just out with Carl playing with tomato plants he looks agonized.

Its like hes trying to win an Emmy in every scene he does. It might be a director thing tho since I liked him in season 1. Also I laughed when he found out that Lori was dead. Bawling your eyes out and going into fetus position, are you kidding me? The tilting is getting annoyingly frequent. But then again, if he does it himself then I guess its not too far fetched that its just the "personality" of that character that came from his real life personality. As for the "Bawling your eyes out and going into fetus position, are you kidding me?", I assume you have not lost anyone close to you. Because that is pretty much the response you are going to have. I am never fond of fake crying on movies/tv (the mist was the worst ever at the end), but in terms of how someone would react its spot on.

The fact that you notice he looks like that even when he's just out and about "playing with tomato plants" means that he's doing a fantastic job conveying those feelings of his character to you tbh. It's not a fantastic job, it's overacting. It's blatantly easy to show the audience what your character feels by overacting. I'm not criticizing the actor, as it's most likely not his fault but the directors'. But it is annoying.

just forget about the plotholes. They are not important. The best has yet to come (and to be screwed up by the writers of this show )

I'm not entirely convinced the baby is dead yet. Certainly seems that way, though.

They are saying its not overacting because that's how someone would act in the situation. Just cause you wouldn't do that doesn't mean its wrong. Some people have emotions and react differently to situations. Remember where not all robot without feelings.

Come to think of it, "overacting" isn't the right word here. The problem isn't that he is a bad actor who overacts his emotions. He portrays the mental anguish just fine. The problem is that he's simply acting like he's in extreme mental anguish 24/7. And that's just.. weird. It's fine if you disagree and say that people really can be like that. But I disagree with your disagreement, and do not find it very realistic. Even the most severe cases of depression or PTSD are not in sheer mental agony 24/7. And no, I'm not saying that his suffering is unrealistic in general. It sure as hell was quite appropriate in the last episode, for instance.

Worst mother of human existence goes to that stupid bitch who let her daughter die and keeps letting her play far away with no gun. I bet the crazy person thats doing the insane stuff robbed the baby. prison is gone finally so it really should start picking it up. Daryl and tyreese were so boss in this episode, if it wasn't for them 2 fighting head on with the other group the entire time they would have been owned.

All in all I'd lean more favorably. It's an 8/10 episode, mainly because it was really entertaining. Also, they finally took a bold step in breaking TWD out of its stagnant streak at a reasonable time. I was really going to rage if they actually went the full 16 eps of the season at the prison. The show's headed in a positive direction, hopefully it stays on track with more exploration like in s1 and a little less excessive melancholy (yeah yeah post-apocalypse. They could still try to sneak in some humor outside of the characters doing stupid shit). Misc: - Disappointing end to the governor. I was in defense of the guy up until now. Sure he wasn't the greatest villain, but he was the best we had as far as a real antagonist goes. There was always the chance that he could be salvaged given proper expansion on his backstory which would have better supported why he was a bit out of his mind. Instead, it felt like they only superficially delved into it all before ending his run. Not only that, but despite the nice payoff in the form of this ep, the first half of s4 feels too mechanical in setting the stage for the governor's final confrontation. It's all like an awkward redo of the s3 finale and is the main reason I'm knocking it down to an 8/10. Furthermore, this ep could've been even more powerful if they simply took their time in building the governor's small post-Woodbury arc from the first ep of this season. Packing it all into 2 episodes before the blowout feels a bit lazy. - <3 Michonne. I love how her first line after being captured is: "I'm going to kill you". She fulfills her promise too :D - Anyone else laugh at the governor's reaction to the dead kid? I thought they were going to go with the cliche "omg what have I done?! If only I was there to protect you" moment and fuck up the action, but instead he immediately shoots her in the face xD. - The zombies were great in this one. More of just an environmental hazard and a mirror of the decay of humanity, sauntering in from the background as these people tear each other apart. They even snuck in the zombified chick from the first ep this season. Echoing her message of "You don't get to come back from things". Chilling :o Bring on the 2nd half!

It's because the zombies are no longer the bad guys. They're just random pieces of shit walking around. What made season one so good was that it felt like it was humans vs zombies. Season 2 was Rick vs Shane, season 3 and 4 the governor and the flu. Fucking gay ass shit.
