Episode was good, I can ignore the plotholes, too bad this wasn't season 3 finale and they had to milk it for half of season 4.

I'm just happy that Daryl, Michonne, Maggie and Glenn lived. Herschel dying did suck though. But that group, esp Michonne and Daryl, are my favorites. Michonne is so goddamn badass. Michonne was fucking awful in season 3 but she is much better now for sure. Im really having a problem with the guy playing Rick. Hes way overacting and needs to tone it down.

TBH I never even knew that Andrew Lincoln was british until season 4. I always thought he sucked at dialogue, but I now think it's just how his southern accent comes off. It always sounds really forced like he just ran a mile before his conversations. I can deal with it though, the actual content of his dialogue was good enough to bear with the slightly over exaggerated dialect, and he's still pretty good.

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) deserves an Oscar for his performance in this series. Overreacting? He almost got punched to death in the most scary situation you can ever imagine, sees his best friend decapitated, then sees that his baby has been eaten alive ..... How the hell would you react? Just stay calm? I cant imagine how i would react but it would definetely be like Andrew reacted or worse. Maybe just pass out. Andrew is one of the most talented actors ive seen.

The thing is, he's acting like all those burdens are on him 24/7. Even on the most sunny of days he looks like a beaten puppy ready to burst into tears, and every dialogue he's involved in is either screaming at people or, again, sounding anguished and emotionally tortured. It's not necessarily the actor's fault, but it sure does get on my nerves.

Really?? Why'd you think she was awful? Like not enough backstory or just her acting? I just though she's so badass.
Rick, I like his acting a lot actually.
I absolutely loathed Andrea and Lori. Though that was more their characters than their acting. Just two utterly useless individuals.

In season 3 michonne was overly anti-social. It's supposed to be her character, but it got to the point that you almost wanted to think she was retarded, not anti-social. Probably a mix of both acting and the role she was given. Toward the latter half of the season though they finally gave her rational dialogue that consisted of more than a few lines.

Sorry, my empathy only works in well written stories that don't constantly yank me out of my suspension of disbelief because the characters are constantly doing something blatantly stupid and/or unrealistic.

Pay attention to his body language (the weird body tilting he does is driving me nuts) and his overly serious voice during normal conversations. Its like hes trying to win an Emmy in every scene he does. It might be a director thing tho since I liked him in season 1. Also I laughed when he found out that Lori was dead. Bawling your eyes out and going into fetus position, are you kidding me?

Man, I was waiting for the tank scene with so much hype. To feel the intensity of the moment like I felt when I was reading the comics, but instead it was just a "meh" scene. Please don't get me wrong, I don't want the series to be exactly like the comics but I do want the key moments to be well played. I believe that everyone who reads the comics remember when the governor shouts out in anger from the top of the tank "KILL THEM ALL" and the series didn't deliver, it was far from an unforgettable moment of pure madness.

Don't waste your time conti is the same person who had empathy for Tod in Breaking Bad. Im pretty sure his view of characters motivations and whether they are acting accordingly are pretty skewed.

I'm currently reading the comic books, but haven't gotten to that part yet. So coming from someone with that background I really saw the scene as pure madness. The tension of the negotiations, to Ricks reaction of the Governor killing Hershal all felt really exciting, intense, and crazy. Maybe how you play a scene up in your mind has almost impossible expectations, because everyone fills in those gaps in the panels differently.

it feels like they had to re-do the season 3 finale because it was so fucking bad so they wrote the first half of the season to build this up.
the stories feel awkward, disjointed, and in some places, down right stupid but at the end of the day I enjoyed this episode. It was fun to watch and lots of people died and/or have a new opportunity for fresh stories.
I'm hopeful now for the 2nd half of the season, I thought this season was DOA until now.

Truth is if Rick the Dick simply yelled no and didn't fire off any shots the camp people would've been shocked at the governor's decapitating of Hershel... But then again, none of them, not even the dyke butches, had any leadership qualities to stand up to him. The governor is a natural leader amongst retarded submissive followers that for whatever reason have managed to survive this long.

I have to say, this season is much better than the last. I still think nothing compares to season 1, but that's something that can't be helped since Frank Darabont was fired (who was show runner for season 1). Really think losing him was the biggest loss for this series. ANYWAYS, so far I think this seasons' not doing too bad.

Wellp, now we know for sure the next episodes leading to the finale is gonna suck again. Then the finale is gonna be amazing so we'll have to keep watching
