oh i saw that game that was one of the more terrible ones
there are certainly games where it doesn't work if his other teammates doesn't get a good start and envy got sacced which is probably the case this game

It makes sense to sac farm reliant carry because all he does is hit creeps and push in lanes. Better to let the offlaner have a good start and let him carry the tempo going around killing shit.

another big difference is in g1 universe crushed fata in the 1v1 and fata was just a third support/walking ravage as a result

support nyx and kotl doesn't exactly excel at rotating though it could be done

VG 2-0 over VP. VG definitely earned their top 4.
I still don't feel like VG has played that well, but they're definitely doing something in the draft & strategy that's working better in this meta than anyone else.

Their drafting has definitely been their strength so far in the upper bracket. However, I think VG is too one-dimensional in their core picks and they rely too much on ET/Bane/Naga to salvage bad matchups (Disruptor has been wanting so far). VP had both of those games if they had cores that could push high ground.
Also, Dark Seer sucks.

They don't really have any towerhitters. Their best hero at hitting towers is Abbadon, who is not really great.
