Has them up fast and spoiler free. (especially if you install their anti-spoiler add on in that stickied thread)

So these group stages aren't actually true GSL style groups. They run as such:
(teams in the first column always win)
Match 1 A v B Match 2 C v D Losers B v D Winners A v C Final B v C
True GSL groups would have the Winners match played first. I always thought this was a very intentional, designed order. The reason being that it gave the loser of the Winner's match the opportunity to rest, watch the Loser's match, and observe their next opponent's play. One could posit that the loser of the Winner's match earned this advantage by winning their first match.
I'm curious if Valve has a reason for not holding true to the original style as I always thought it added to mind games in GSL.
I know a lot of people would consider it a really slight, probably insignificant advantage, but it is an advantage. Certainly, this early in the tournament, watching your opponent draft 2-3 times extra before having to play them could be massive. Additionally, this order penalizes the Winners of the first matches by forcing them to play 2 matches w/o rest.
Anyways just my two cents on format.

The big question is whether to get up at 3am or just watch vods. Seems dangerous to get up early especially on day 1 given the likelihood of delays.

Huh, this actually works out decently for east coast US. I'll get to see a game or three before I have to sleep . . .

for me it starts at 2am so what i do is i will set the alarm for 5am. in case of typical china delays i probably still see the most of the first set and if they actually manage to not fuck up i can still view everything from the second set onwards. seems the best choice to me.

That's not a solid metric to go by seeing as OD has undergone significant rework and the change in meta I think it's worth seeing in some games just to observe how pro players try to play against it

Shoutout to all the europeans like me who are going to wake up at 2 am to watch the games.
I've heard there's going to be huge delays and stuff like that, which is scary.
ANYWAY RIP MY SLEEP SCHEDULE
