LGD has just as much teamplay, and dendi is a superstar. Only difference is that sylar is a better player than xboct.

Also, the critical factor to note is that LGD's nerves are much more stable than iG's were. While iG has an awful time playing from behind, and several bad mistakes/teamfights can snowball against them, LGD's play is much more clear-headed, and they can much more quickly turn around their disadvantage, even in the face of a bad situation.
