This series is going to be more exciting than Na'Vi vs Alliance, I can practically guarantee it.

Yeah, we don't have that starcraft bullshit in dota, it's a single bo5. lol ''starcraft bullshit'' = the standard way to run a double elimination tournament I've seen some pretty sick FGC matches that wouldn't be possible without the "starcraft BS" Plus, it's called double elimination for a reason... The starcraft bullshit is the extended series stuff, which people seem to confuse for standard double elimination when in fact it has nothing to do with it. The whole idea behind double elim is that you get a second chance, you need to lose twice to get knocked out of the tournament. If you reach the grand finals through the winner bracket that means you haven't lost a game yet, so you need to lose once before you can be knocked out. The team from the losers bracket has obviously already lost once. Extended series is a whole different thing. And I understand why Valve runs it this way, but saying that it is de facto more fair to run it in a way where the team that has performed the best gets one less chance than the other team is just not true. But it is true. Staying in the winners bracket means you never dropped at set and you get rewarded if you meet a team you knocked out. It's really common, to the point of being standard.

I hope Orange can make Sven work!

They have dropped a set yet. Yeah, we don't have that starcraft bullshit in dota, it's a single bo5. lol ''starcraft bullshit'' = the standard way to run a double elimination tournament Nah, single series is good, fair, and fun. At most a 1 game advantage would be tolerable, anything else is ridiculous for a grand finals. I dunno about fair, but single series (maybe with a game advantage) is certainly fine for dota, and definitely the most fun option. but its not "starcraft bullshit", it is literally the way most double elim tournaments are designe, all FGC tournaments for example are double elim with 2 round finals, and they get plenty hype It's about the game type really. Fighting games do better in this type of tournament setup because of their nature, each match is "more exciting" and closer etc. In Starcraft it really feels that a 1 game or series advantage is way too much to overcome. Which makes series significantly more boring 1 game advantage is ok, but something has to be done to give the winner bracket side an advantage since they haven't been eliminated once. I don't know if TI3 does that though.
The winner bracket has the advantage of not having to go through the losers bracket. Im sure its grueling

I thought it was all about double-elimination double-grand-finals the original guy was, as far as I can tell, talking about double elim, and was just being dumb

It was about as allin as it gets How. Luna is one of the stronger lategame carries, especially with overcharge. They had to get an early advantage, yes, but it's not like the game was inherently lost if they didnt end the game by 20 minutes BKB Alchemist eats Luna alive.
