The whole playoffs were not to pick the winner. It is to pick the top 2 teams who will play in a grand final. It's a 2 separate stage in the tournament.
So there are actually 3 stages in the tournament which is groupstage, playoff, grand finals. Each stage is separate.
Teams who did better in group stage didn't start with a 1-0 advantage in the playoff as well despite winning more games.
Is this serious? Yeah, they didn't get a 1-0 advantage, they got a 2-0 advantage. They started in the upper bracket and other teams started in the lower bracket, the equivalent in the format of getting 2-0'd. There was a huge advantage to doing well in the prelims, it's really weird that you try to make it sound like there wasn't. Yeah, a team with a 9-5 record (lets not count the tiebreaker) was in the exact same part of the bracket against a team with 14-0. That team was seeded worse. If you're ever played in a tournament you might be aware that it's a gigantic disadvantage to play vs #1 seed first instead of vs the #8 seed.

That group stage is to pick 8 teams to be put in Upper Bracket and 8 teams to be put in Lower Bracket.
This playoff is to put 2 teams in the Grand Finals and 14 teams to be eliminated.
Between teams in the lower bracket, there is no score advantage despite some teams winning more than the others ( IG vs DK started 0-0 despite IG being 8-6 and DK 10-4).
Therefore in the grand finals there should be no score advantage also.
of course there are other non score advantages like being able to pick your opponents or being well rested and are able to save strats and analyze more of your opponents.

Thats the problem of an usual dota 2 game with his natural lenght and diversity in his picks, the chance of pulling a strategy from the sleeves is the highest in a bestof5,even if its for a 800k $ difference matchup

Orange had a good run, would have liked to see them in finals. Hopefully they aren't going through shuffle and keep going at it, a team that makes a Slardar pick work is awesome in my book.

at least the chinese teams varied their picks Alliance are boring, but Na'Vi? L O L State one subjective fact and then laugh at another. You want a cookie?
"from Sweden", talk subjectivity. I find the Alliance boring in that they've become a winning machine, also I love the plays but can hardly stand the players (EGM especially has the right number to get on my nerves), sorry we don't share the same opinion.

dendi only plays puck or sf
hvost only plays naix or weaver
funnik only plays windrunner or dark seer
they only deviate when they get chen
alliance i don't even have to list them ugly boring rat dota with loda and bulldog farming for 30 minutes into gg with akke on chen and egm on naga
only player who has variety in his heroes is s4

Sure, who wouldn't. My point was that despite a long break, atleast they have some content other than what we've seen in numerous other tournaments. (in SC2 or Dota2)

Nobody guarantees that a team with a spotless record in prelims is a huge favorite, just look at LGD last year.
And by beating a high seed your part of the bracket opens up, as we witnessed this week in Montreal Masters (tennis).
