Valve not even giving a games advantage to winners bracket is fucked. No one likes game advantages. They make for fucking boring finals 80% of the time. Agreed. Disagreed. Well Alliance would play 2 games instead of 3 no big deal in this specific finals I wouldn't like that for the 1 game advantage. I think that it should be a Bo7 with Alliance having a 1 game advantage. That way we have 3-6 games, so only 1 more than now, with just 1 possibility for that. "No one likes advantages", well how about the advantage that Na'Vi is still in the tournament after losing a series? Explain to me how Orange got 3rd place after losing 6 games in prelims? because the prelims were meant purely for seeding?
the main event deteremines where you place/get paid

It was top 3 play because it was a sick play to counter a sick play. The best plays are always like that imo.

Watching those liquid highlights give me chillbumps.

I'm rooting for alliance but I'm happy about the no game advantage. It makes for less exciting finals and I want alliance to win on equal terms.

Aegis means OD cannot be focused first in a teamfight and guarantees he will get off an ult and dps even if he gets blown up right away or disabled, which is exactly what happened. The threat of aegis means Orange could actually push a rax with something to fall back and win the game.

Its the sign of a great team. The salty Orange fans are funny. Orange is a great team and played really well, but couldn't hold it together in the end. That had nothing to do with it. If they didn't deny the aegis Na'Vi lost, simple as that. People who are far better at Dota 2 disagree with you. Even with the aegis, they might not have been able to break the base. They have one damage source that was losing steam. You don't take psychological effect in account. Nobody is saying that if Aegis was on Orange it was like instant win, but the game wouldn't have ended so abruptly. Anyone who denies that is a blind NaVi fanboy. Oh I am sure that fucked with them. However, its their job to recover and you can't claim otherwise. I am saying NaVi got incredibly lucky and people are making sound like it was the biggest comeback in history of Dota, that's it. It was a great comeback. Orange fucked up, Na'vi took advantage and pressed it. That's how games are won. When someone fumbles in football and it leads to a turn around, you don't say that its not a comeback. It was a great comeback. That's funny. You have claimed that Orange's advantage wasn't that big to begin with, which is arguable, but let's take your side for this moment. If NaVi weren't that far behind at all, than what makes this comeback great when your opponents just got unfortunately mindblocked after the loss of Aegis? Because it's NaVi?

They had advantage in lanes from the start no matter what hero they ran, Lifestealer was gonna lose to OD and the tri-lane was gonna beat Dendi.

The whole playoffs were not to pick the winner. It is to pick the top 2 teams who will play in a grand final. It's a 2 separate stage in the tournament.
So there are actually 3 stages in the tournament which is groupstage, playoff, grand finals. Each stage is separate.
Teams who did better in group stage didn't start with a 1-0 advantage in the playoff as well despite winning more games.
teams who did better were placed in the winner's practice, giving them an extra life in the tournament. teams who did not do well were placed in the loser's bracket, being eliminated after losing their next set

the aegis deny was only the beginning of the huge mistakes from orange. it led them to take unfavorable fights which would not have happened if they had the aegis.
