It is just the length of the games and the snowball effect that makes it worse than in other games. When it happens in a pub shooter you don't lose so badly over such a long period of time.
I mean if you think about it L4D pretty much invented the term rage quit, at least for me. Just one person failing or trolling ruined the team and even though L4D has less players it still doesn't have as much of a snowball effect so it still isn't quite so bad, but the similarities remain.

Ya man but its not the snowballing that bothers me. Its the kids who queue up with the sole purpose of ruining games for other people.

Trolls gonna troll. If they are intentionally feeding, report them. If the are BMing and it isn't funny to laugh at them, mute them. Just don't feed the troll - ignore them and move onto the next game. I personally haven't encountered anybody who intentionally feeds yet, so i guess you just have bad luck :S

So far, this is what I've gathered to do, so I want some confirmation:
Phase Boots / Janggo / Aghanims are my core. Quas/Wex maxed up first, dance between EMP/Tornado all day. Fuck people up early game, become a mass disabler late game. Anything I'm missing? That's basically the sum of it, you probably don't need an agha that early, I love getting it, have played invoker hundreds of times in dota1, but still don't get much use out of it before level 18/19, an earlier sheepstick is probably more use. I also go euls, basically every game. Mostly because having 522 ms the entire game is fun as shit. Make sure you're maxing wex over quas, since it gives the best of everything IMO - mobility wins games, emp charge time, and the long range interrupt on tornado is invaluable, plus it gives you 4 seconds of disarm on deafening blast.
Once you have your phase and good wex, you're almost certainly the fastest thing on the map, so make sure you're participating in everything.
Don't forget to alacrity your carry, and if you can manage it, having for spirits up most of the time is really good, they're super strong, -armour is always relevant.
Cold snap is your best friend early game, it let's you win any hit trades you feel like, and can do very funny things to shadow fiends. It also has a much bigger cast range than you think - if your tornado is on cooldown, you can probably interrupt with snap.

So I've seen the SK/Ursa Rosh tactic a lot recently (like 5-6 games out if the 100 odd I've played over the weekend) and in all honesty,I'm totally confused by it on both sides
How do you guys actually do it well in terms of Ursa abilities (fury swipe or overpower) and how do you lane after?
Also, if you're on the other team, do you basically go in when you suspect they're about to kill him, and go for a slaughter? Or do you just take the hit and try to make up for it in farm?

How can I check which server the MM bot decides to host on whenever I click find match? I need to know this to investigate my lag issues.
|
It's about stacking fury swipes and using it to leech. ursa goes jungle, sk hits a lane Like normal. No biggie. If you peg it, definitely stop it, just run in and ballstomp them. They will be down 2 heroes in a fight, since ursa has swipes, and is possibly low anyway, and sk has aura, so is as useful in a gank as a marzipan dildo, assuming the whole enemy team is even there. Smoke up to avoid a ward, run in, kill the bastards, early gold and exp, if you pick theright heroes you can probably even finish off the rosh, if you do, preferably give all the exp to one hero, a lich or something, because that's hilarious.

Ah ok, because we tried it and afterwards I went jungle, but in hindsight we were thinking that maybe a trilane would have been more sensible.
And yeah, that happened to us where we were caught out and slaughtered :D They had a Naix so they got Rosh as well. Annoyingly, we may well have won that game if we didn't fail there, because it turned into a very close battle for an hour.
|
If you rosh at level 1, ursa should be able to jungle super fast from then, easily outstripping a solo lane, if you give him all the exp it gets even sillier, level 5 ursa with 800 free gold when everyone else is level 1 is not fun. you also don't need a vlads, so can get faster phase, hp and/or blink, and roam around kicking squishies in the nads earlier. The main reason ursas get vlads is to rosh, you already have a leoric, and rosh is dead for 10 minutes.

any comments on my sven build? soul ring -> Power Threads -> Mask of madness -> BkB -> Cuirass -> w/e ... you're invincible
|
Soul ring; good, treads; probably good, mask; situational, bkb; herp. Past that it should e decided on what the team needs, and the quality of the game you're playing. MoM is for stomps, tbh, and if you can get away with it. I'd consider a blink if it's what your team needs.
|
If you see a team pick SK/Ursa you just go to rosh and curb stomp them. You've essentially told the other team EXACTLY what you plan on doing and they should come kill you for it. You're giving the other team 2 kills, including first blood at the very least. Last night they gave up 3 kills there and never recovered, the game was decided in the first few seconds.
|
Precisely. Even if their whole team is there, it's a 3v5 fight with two big creeps.
Much mor sensible is shit like furion, lich, enigma. They can perfectly reasonably rosh at level 1 between the 3 of them, and giving all the exp to furion is basically instant win.

Is Vladmir's Offering worth buying on N'aix as a situational item after Treads and Armlet?
|
I think its sort of silly. Naix likes attack speed since you take HP away in percentage chunks, vlads doesn't do anything there. You've already got lifetap out the ass. Personally I'd leave it to someone else on the team to get one if they're going to.

How can I do the same for DotA 2? Thanks a bunch. Specs would help, brohan

What is an item then that gives massive attack speed?

MoM, Hyperstone, Hand of Midas, even MKB gives a bit, adds a buttload of damage and makes it so you can't miss.
