Thanks mine is amd 6000+ (bought back in 2007) and with a 5770 bought last year, can run max setting of dota2 (by turning that stupid vsysn off). if you are wondering about the sea/asia invites are fewer i heard thats because they didnt have the sufficient psychical server setup yet for sea/asia region. also guys have quick questions here: does roshan no longer do his stun spell but have the bash ability now? only notice this when i was using ursa lol Rosh has always had 15% bash. He also only casts slam if there are 3 or more people near him, so if you were soloing Rosh with Ursa, he's not going to Slam.

He also used to have a "hurl boulder" ability before, which he does not have now.

There also used to be a bug with Rosh that made him never bash if you used Ursa's Earthshock once on him. Was fixed like 1.5 years ago.

So I was wondering, where do you put your wards ? And with which hero will you buy them ?

I would actually love to know this. Is there a good map to where you would place all of you wards? Well, aside from the two obvious places (watching both rune spawn locations)

It's good learning those spots, but honestly they're of limited usefulness. After your 6 minute wards run out, you should stop putting wards in the set places, and instead put them where the action will be. Trying to take a tower? Put a ward behind it (or near it) so you can see people coming. Trying to get your carry farmed up? Put wards at the choke points and lanes where people might come to gank him. Even very experienced players seem to keep putting wards in those 2 river spots (or other high ground spots) even though there's very little going on there after sometimes. A warder who thinks > a warder who knows spots. It's also often better not to put the wards in common spots against people who are counterwarding .

Why isn't centataur seen in high level games? Good aoe stun, double edge does some good damage. And hes sooooo damn tanky. Surely he serves the same purpose as like a support sven, crix or es?

Melee, needs 2k farm to be usefull. Single target hero besides it's stun. 3 most probable reasons. I love centaur.

Surely he serves the same purpose as like a support sven, crix or es? Sven, SK, and ES all have ranged stuns. This does 2 things--first it makes them significantly more dangerous gankers, and secondly, it means they're not dependent on Blink to get their stun off. Centaur can't match that until after he has Blink, and even with Blink, Blink on Centaur doesn't compare to Blink on Sven/SK/ES. All 3 of those heroes also have much greater overall teamfight presence, as SK/ES have hugely dangerous ultimates, while Sven provides a teamwide armor/MS buff.
Centaur also has no farming power. If he has a rough start, he doesn't have an efficient way to farm quickly and catch up on gold/levels. SK and Sven are both very capable of quickly farming creeps if they have a rough early game, which means they can get to items that keep them relevant more quickly.

Does anyone know of any amateur competitive teams that are looking for members or where I could find them?
|
Playdota forums has a recruitment section. Playing well in games in dota 1 would always lead to at least 1 person asking if you had a clan lined up - not enough people looking for it at the moment, but the recruitment forum is a good place to start.
I also love centaur, and think he needs more love, especially as a passive solo mid - stout shield and return means nobody will harass you, amazing base damage and one of the best anims in the game doesn't hurt either.

After Lich's Chain Frost is cast, is there a range limitation to the projectile? i.e. does it disappear if the opponent blinks away/haste etc..

alright. i'll admit it. i'm a noob and i don't know wtf to do vs huskar. (in a 1v1 mid situation). i feel like any harass is ineffectual since he either heals it off or uses it as an advantage to last hit better due to increased damage/attack speed.
tips for a wr/krob/lina solo mid vs huskar?

I am asking about BEFORE it hits the first target. I have cast CF on a target in range and the projectile followed the target as they were trying to escape, I would say, >1500, before it began bouncing. I don't understand the mechanics behind that action.

I wouldn't solo Lina or krob vs him. For WR just stay back and last hit/deny. You outrange him nicely so there's no need to get hit by him ever. Don't push the wave so you always either in the middle or back at your tower. You don't always need to get agro to win a solo lane. Just wait until he makes a mistake then press that advantage. Krob you can do similar thing just use your silence to make sure he doesn't randomly jump you and don't spam your wave

I don't understand the mechanics behind that action. I believe the damage is applied immediately before the projectile even hits. Then the bounce calculation is done upon the projectile hitting the target. Also the bounce range is 575 I believe, not 850. 850 is the cast range with Aghs. Check playdota for confirmation of numbers

CF damage is done when the projectile hits, the mini stun is on cast. The bounce range is after hit also. Spells or spell projectiles will follow the targeted hero post-cast. This itself is complicated once you get into blink/leap/invisibility mechanics after the spell is cast, but hasn't hit the target.
