Is there a list to all the heroes so far in Dota 2 with what their spells are etc? Like an official one by valve/dota team

no. There still be a huge skill gap in dota but its not at the level of 'un-reachable' if you trying to compare a bronze to Flash.

You need to learn the basic mechanic of a MOBA game such as last hitting, ban pick, creep situation, warding and team work. Then on the high level it is all about decision making as a team and how well you execute it.

Another factor into it is that you need to practice this game as a 'team' instead of an individual such as sc2. Team work is crucial in dota and if you think somehow you can win over MYM, think again since their team has been together since the very beginning of dota.

huh? that logic isnt right at all for both games, even if boxer was around for 13+ years people caught up to him in skill in both BW and SC2

I suppose I worded that wrong. Not entirely sure what my point was, long story short it is going to be possible to be competitive when the game comes out and the community makes the shift? (not immediately obviously but with time)

It'll probably take 6 months at least, but yes it's possible if you learn the right ways.

Right now I believe we only have the DotA 1 list (which can be found on playdota.com), but I would love to see them make an official DotA 2 list, because even though they're the same heroes I enjoy seeing the new models and whatnot.

Question: What is animation cancelling (or rather, what's the point of it?), and can you do it in DotA 2?

Out of the heroes in this pool, Darkseer's vacuum will destroy trees near the focal point if it draws in units, and Vengeful Spirit's Nether Swap will destroy trees near her point of origin. In both these 2 cases it's to prevent heroes from being stuck in trees.

Also, Leshrac's split earth (same as lina)
I liked Dota before it was Mainstream.

bm, furion, ES, tiny, clock(not sure about this), morph(pushing into tree), VS(ulti swap kill trees), storm (not sure if ulti still kill tree at landing point), windrunner, lina, lersharc(not sure) and DS(vaccum)

All heroes CAN break trees, if you teleport to a tower and position the port on top of the trees it will break all surrounding trees(i wonder if this will still happen in dota2?) And there is an item called the Quelling Blade which allows you to chop down trees on use!

no, the skill will expire as the player get old just as korean BW scene. Also the game will be constantly changing due to new heroes will be added after balance is achieved which make the 'perfect' strategy is un-reachable.

You can get in high competitive form even if you're new. I've witnessed that myself.
Some years ago( was it 3 or 4), I was a happy nooblet playing in the old dce league on euro bnet(legendary status btw). A player was standing out more than the others. His name was babyknight. After some months, I started seing his name on top notch reps on ggnet and after a year or so, he joined some pro team. Ah memories lol. Don't forget also that Pis was a notorius pub hero before he got picked up by pros.
So anyway, if you are dedicated you will reach your goals.
My dick has shrunk to the point where it looks like I have 3 balls.

What would the "right" way to improve be? I come from a HoN background. Low-mid level player (~1650 PSR) but would like to get to a higher level in Dota2.

He has 4 levelable skills(ill get to the 5th button shortly)

they are:
Spectral Dagger: He throws this in a line which leaves behind the black path, any units it hits on the way will take damage and also leave behind a black path.

Desolate: Passive that makes him deal extra damage(ignores armor?) to units with no nearby allies

Dispersion: Causes any damage taken to be reflected onto all enemies in a 1000 AoE. The further away the enemy is the less damage is dealt.

Haunt: Creates an image beside all enemy heroes that will attack that hero, the image takes 200% dmg and only deals 40% dmg)


Lastly, the 5th button is for 'Reality' which basically allows him to teleport to any of the 'Haunt' images, letting the real spectre take their place.

it is not a single player game, if you want to improve you need a team.

best way to improve as an individual is choosing your role inside a team, its like race picking in sc2. Focus on playing your role in a team (carrier farming, support warding, etc..) and study replays of pros on the strategy involve team fight.

those are all base on assuming your basic skill (minimap, last hitting, creep situation) are good to go.
