I know that Lifesteal Orb Effects used to stack with Skadi but it was only for Ranged heroes, now it stacks with melee as well. Yes, they allowed melee to be able to stack it because it's "unfair" if you like (I think that the WC3 engine limited them stacking in DotA 1). Melee heroes are already 'disadvantaged' as it is by being melee.
Okay, was just wondering if this was a bug or completely intended.

They work as expected on everyone but kunkka. The bonus damage from the QB is only applied to the initial hit unit on his cleave - I tested it when he first came out, it could be different now.

Does skadi stack with lifesteal only, or with other orbs as well?

Skadi can stack with ranged heroes, it is counted as an orb for melee heroes(where it does not stack), thus it is common to see skadi+dominator/satanic on a morphling.

Any reliable way to get invites for a friend without paying 40 dollars?

Skadi and Lifesteal UAM stack with each other regardless of heroes being melee or ranged in Dota 2.

Sign up here and maybe you'll get lucky! http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=307626
Ask around...there are often trading websites like d2jsp for example where you can obtain a key without actual money.

The list is soooo long haha. By the time that it gets to me, the game will be fully released =/

Try trading, if you're lucky you can earn an invite just by trading the items you got for free ingame I just gave away a mythical Axe weapon for a Dota 2 invite.

I'm a pretty new player, I only played something like 15-20 games so far. I am familiar with 5-6 heroes right now, and I'm probably best with Death Prophet or Bone Fletcher. My question is, should I random and try every single hero, or focus one? Or should I keep focusing on a few while trying out similar heroes which I feel comfortable with?

Focus on a few and gradually learn the other heroes and what they do, or play with bots and get a feel for all of them. Would be best to stick to an impact, low item requirement hero. Lich, Crystal Maiden, Vengeful Spirit, Sven, Slardar, Tidehunter. Something that won't put the burden on you, but even if you're not doing super well farm-wise you will still have a good participation to the team.
Whichever is more fun to you in the end...if you don't mind being yelled at by teammates you can random all the time. Focus on a few heroes IMO, my little Aslan. Then soon you will grow up to be a big Cimbom. Re re re RA RA RA?

What exactly are the mechanics behind Windrunner's Shackleshot? Is it probabilistic? I feel like it sometimes miss obvious latches and other times you manage to latch in really ridiculous situations.
|
I remember playing slardar when I was new. Someone told me it would be easy. They lied.
After you have the basics down, I would random. Sure you get your worst character sometimes, but there is no better way to get better at a character than to play it. You might want to practice heroes like chen, sylla, and invoker before you random though, especially if you haven't played an RTS and magika (invoker ez pz when you play that first )

The strange shackle shots are the results of the animation. When she casts the spell and it lands, it checks if there is anything behind it to latch on. If there is it will latch even if during that 0.2 sec of the landing and the latching the targets move, thats why there are some "strange" shackles.

Even 2 capes for nature's prophet -_- The RNG gods don't like me.
And I like tidehunter but I only have 1 item of his... =/

how come pro chen never use wolf alpha? I thought the 30% damage aura is pretty neat for support.

They do, but rarely because often a stomper is a better choice for ganking and pushing towers because of its higher HP. Lategame chens tend to have one with them because that is when it shines.

Is the experience shared if I kill a neutral creep while an enemy is near me ?
