Sell them when you need the slots, not before. So, for instance if you have 5k gold and still have a poor man's shield, get a better item obviously. But if you still have an open slot, then why sell it? A bad item is better than no item. That said, i think the magic wand is the best item in the game.

Does anyone know of a good competitive vid where I can check out morphling's item build? Or better yet, provide one (with starting items and then item progression)?
Also how do I best use morph? I'm assuming when I'm going for the shotgun with eblade, it's obviously best to convert all to agility to try and get the max damage. Is it best to leave on all agility by default, and then only start switching to strength when you are being focused?
And also how do you farm in the early game? I always run out of mana after using waveform a few times ><

Watch any of Quantic.Korok's games. He plays one of the best morphlings outside of China. Item builds are pretty fluid with morphling but there are two general directions. Most players generally go for Linkin's Sphere or Ethereal Blade. Linkins allows you to split push more effectively and farm with your waveform while Ethereal Blade makes you a midgame powerhouse.
The general item build for morphling is like 3xggbranch+healing items+RoP-> Aquila -> Treads -> Linkin/Eth/BKB -> Manta -> Skadi -> HoD -> Butter/Rapier/MKB/Daedalus/Satanic
get bkb if you are scared as shit but you probably dont need it
The Aquila + Linkins will take care of your mana problems. However, until you get them both, using waveform to farm is not smart unless you get a bottle. Even if you get a bottle, when you want to waveform to kill creeps, make sure you lower all the creeps so they die and hit atleast 1 enemy hero so that your mana is not wasted.
Morph is a pretty complicated spell. That and his awful base damage is what makes Morphling troublesome to play. What you want to do is keep your hp high enough to escape from the other teams front loaded burst. You can keep it lower if they dont have anything to stop you from morphing. (silence, ice blast, sheep, dagon, shit) You can morph through stuns so keep that in mind.
#winning Get ethblade -> make replicate -> walk in pew+pew+fwoosh+replicate away = profit$$
Every game is different. There are times when your build might vary so like morphling, be flexible...

Um to add on above, many get Manta after treads as well (before Links/Ethereal/BKB). Manta provides the best physical DPS early and good stats, but does leave you without mana regeneration (something Morphling likes to spam waveform & Morph at will).

I just remembered I watched a nice DK vs EHOME game where Burning went morph (I am a big Burning fan and so I want to learn his signature heroes ) and won in the end; dling that vod right now. If anyone has links to any good morph replays let me know too. Thanks for the help!

Manta is great on Morphling as illusions get the effects of innate agility, which he can mass more easily than any other hero.

Manta BEFORE Linkens is somewhat uncommon, because Manta is one of your core DPS items, while Linken's is a more farming-focused item. The Perseverance/Linken's are generally built earlier if at all.

It's all personal preference! I have Q W E R (for skills) Then I set up my inventory slots as such: ALT + Q W E ALT + A S D
That way my left hand is using keys roughly in the same location, easily accessible. Then 1-6 for hotkeys. (Hero, Courier, Summonables, Hero+Summonables, etc)
*Edit* - For the QoP 2x Null question. Someone mentioned that under the suggested tab there is 2 Nulls, that is probably 80-90% of why you actually see people buy double Null. IMO: 1 Null MAX, actual viable build is 2x Bracers that is more often seen competitively.

This is quite common. Happens to around half the replays right now.

dual mid lanes, no escape mechanism, not that reliable push. he still gets in sometimes as a pusher support when veno is banned

Now that teams can get it for last pick, it's definitely worth taking (when the opponent doesn't have the counters). Overall I think the drafting part of the game is still very unrefined.

I disagree. The problems with SS are not his counters, but there are better picks for this metagame. Usually teams go for early/mid pushes, wards have too long cd and too many times you have to make a decision between dropping the wards at the start of the fight (if you don't most support rhastas die instantly) or you save it for when you get 2 kills and want to push the tower. The high cd also causes that you can't just drop the wards and when the enemy arrives retreat, you have to be much more careful with it then any other pusher with their skills.
The drafting part will always be "unrefined" since new heroes make it to dota2 or new trends come up or the whole meta changes. For instance an example for this would be Lich, when the full on pusher meta was on, no one picked him because he can't push, he can't antipush and he needs lvl6 to be effective something that is a luxury against heavy push. Before this he was instabanned/picked, because his great ult and frost armor was really nice in the carry+teamfight meta. Right now he's slowly coming back into drafts that focus a little bit more on mid game teamfights (and denying xp) than push.
