I never ever play doom and felt he sucked insanely hard. the lane was me + cm vs bristle necro. i bought the ring of protection but was basically afk in lane then caught offguard when bristle basically killed me in a few rightclicks without batting an eyelid and i was 0-4-7 by 16 minutes. i went midas shit boots bkb blink aghs. (ignore bf) our axe "panic picked" offlane solo axe and i wasn't sure what to pick for our carry , it seemed like doom had utility (i wanted to shut down the necro) and could also be a decent carry but i didn't realise he is a bit of a wet towel. so my question is how bad was the doom last pick , what would you have picked instead (razor?? anything? i dont know much about carry position other than "pick sven or pa to win dota"), and how would you have played the doom? we would have lost a LOT harder if they ever used their mirana invis (i was the only person buying sentries and got shit talk from our support when i recommended people buy some) http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2408602601 | ||

I dove for ~1/2 a second from what I could tell which would be enough for it to gain at least a couple hundred units on me. | ||

I don't think you could ever "win" the lane against necro bristle with a solo CM support, but there were a lot of things you could've done to even out the lane/get more out of it. Their laning setup was quite obvious. The qb was very greedy and you probably should've opted for double regen. Since you had really little regen you basically just sat back in lane watching him last hit. You could've done the creep-aggro and de-aggro trick to move the creep equilibrium more into your favour. Your second item should've been a magic stick. It would've been better to take a point of infernal blade at lvl 2 so you can counter harass. Naked midas rush is really bad in lanes where you're losing/being contested. You should've finished tranqs or bought at least brown boots first so you're hero is actually meaningful and can offer kill potential. In terms of the midgame and beyond, you really need to check enemy items a lot more. That spectre went naked radiance rush and was beyond useless. Yet when you went to contest her lane you were far too passive. In fights, if you can't remember to use it, keep Infernal Blade on autocast. I think BKB was a worthless first item, you're better off going for blink --> aghs against their lineup or shadowblade --> aghs and solo killing everything but the bristle. Lastly, think twice before TPing somewhere. There were times where you TP out to a lane already being farmed and then were unable to join some fights. Your hero can jungle perfectly fine and it's really stupid to TP out to a lane then fighting your team mate for creeps. | ||

http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2415300423 I was the Tinker in this game, even though we somehow won that game I feel that I got carried hard in that game by my team after feeding 2 times because of stupid mistakes and all that shit. Think I could have done way better in that game instead of just being a sitting duck and farming all the time. One thing that I'm having trouble with playing this hero is that I find it to be really difficult to create space with Tinker pre blink dagger. Its like before getting blink dagger i'm just a sitting duck just trying to farm stacks and/or creep waves meanwhile relying on my team to hold off 4v5. Meanwhile in that game the enemy AM got a 12 minute BF, enemy Axe got an 11 min blink dagger and I felt that I was quite powerless to do anything about it. Granted that I was prioritizing march over laser missile since im up against a qe invoker so i figured that he would out regen my harassment anyway so might as well just spam march and rush BoT. Also my Blink Dagger timing was pretty late in this game, got it at around 20 minutes or so, could have even gotten delayed more if I didn't get a couple of kills. I'm assuming if I didn't die 2 times in the earlygame I could have gotten it at around 14 minutes or so. So yeah, basically in terms of earlygame ganking/space creating, what should I aim for as a Tinker who went march build, pre dagger? Should I just rely on rune control to just rush my blink dagger? What other things could I have done better in that game aside from my sometimes terrible positioning? | ||

as you said, your influence in the game is pathetic aside from any tower defense scenarios because the ancient farming nerf just slows tinker down so much. theres really not much you can do if an axe and am are that far ahead against you too. just play passively under your lane and in your jungles with ward protection and hope to get that blink out. go defend any towers if the opponents push and if a teamfight occurs you can throw down 2 marches from a safe distance (facing forward but ideally perpendicular to each other). if you dont die then youll stick accumulate gold from the cs and assists + any kills if youre lucky. | ||

You want either large AoE stuns that are semi-spammable like Earth or Jakiro, or short cooldown disables that come online quickly like Ogre, Lion, or Shadow Shaman. | ||
