That series was masterclass of dota. They were doing everything so perfectly, small mistakes both in draft and execution from both sides, led to snowball to opponents.
We waited for months for that Vp vs Liquid final but it was worth it. That was a dota symphony!
In the end Our Boys come up on top, finally getting a major. Not only winning it, but also Winning against all the best teams 2:0 against Secret and LGD, and now win against VP. Well deserved!
I am so excited bout how awesome that series was... cant stop talking about it.
If you want to get good at dota, get your friends, practice your mechanical skills, and once you got them - just watch study that series for map movements, lane choosing, smoke ganks, support rotatins, offlaner rotations, carry rotations, defensive smokes, warding smokes, ganks, warding, dewarding - tower, pushing, tower defending, roshan fights, high ground attempts, teamplay, item choices and most importantly - following your draft strat. In all 5 games both team followed their plan to the end, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't but that is the correct way to play - once the draft is done you are comminted.
Masterclass. Dota 2 masterclass.

How should the guys prepare for TI ? I'm thinking obviously move to China, get some cosmetic race altering surgery, consult with gurus and join the communist party to have a chance of breaking the curse.
|
We already broke one curse, why not break a second one :D
|
He is right. Still haven't won a major. Just the only team to win SuperMajor.
Altering races is not the solution - this year we will break four more curses - the first team to win TI on Chinese year. The first team to win two TIs. The first player/s to win more than one TI and the first team to win two TIs in a row. Waaaaait for it... Its happening.

Off the top of my head, Liquid would also be the first western organization to win two "world championships" in any game that features heavy eastern competition (starcraft, league, dota, maybe fighting games also). Back-to-back victories also.
|
Grats boys! The finals were a nailbiter but showing grit by coming back after the VP stomps is a sign of a true champion.

Matumba having some fun after this supermajor victory.

There is no way he actually thinks that. If you guys don't know - Bulgarians actually like Russians. We have a very special bond with them. Some 140 years ago, they liberated us from the Ottoman Empire, and after more than 500 years there was Bulgaria again. My guess is that some guys from CIS region pushed his buttons, as we all know they can do in PUBs, It happens to lose your cool.
He is a really nice guy and a very good player, i hope that this will be an example for everyone.

Whether he thinks it or not, it was absolutely not an appropriate thing to say. But he's paid for it and obviously knows better now, so it's time to move on. I'm going to assume everyone still brandishing their pitchforks are trolls.

Ye i think the same way. It was not okay and deserves a little punishment. If this dont happens again i think with the charity action everything should be fine but idk If valve decides to take Action here this can get really messy
|
There's no way Valve steps in for something like this, especially when the player's organization has already taken action and released a statement. Maybe if Liquid had just ignored it, but Nazgul's response was actually perfect.

Well I play dota as a release And trust me I've said much worse haha Guess it sucks to be in the spotlight, you can't let go

I don't know, I'm not outraged at all, it's a pretty amusing part of the Dota folklore, nice to see the top guys do it too.
Of course I get when media gets involved, you're the champ you can't act like that But it's still, he's one of us

I really think this whole Mind_Control flame thing could potentially have a negative effect on Liquids performace at TI. There is a pretty rough shitstorm going on at the moment, and to some extend rightfully so. MC fucked up and I really believe him that he is embarassed and ashamed. Up until now he was basically a child getting paid for playing a video game. Now he suddenly finds himself in the position of a serious employee who really got wirebrushed by his bosses AND the public. A shock that could maybe lead to him losing his mojo. I hope Kuro wasn't involved in the whole punishment thing so that the team's chemistry stays unaffected.
The whole situation is a little bit (just a little bit) comparable to the scandal with some players of the german national soccer team with turkish background taking pictures with Erdogan. They received a public shitstorm and got booed by the crowd which had at least some negative effect on the team's performance at the world championship in Russia.
Public outrage and internal quarrels can fuck up your mind (control). o_o
