Didn't think about the format before, but seems like you guys are right. I mean Vici are 1 game away from elimination. Do you seriously think that PAIN are better than them? You think Secret will lose Bo3? EG are on the right path, but still a way to go to beat the top teams in a Bo3.
I understand that there is not enough time to play a full Bo3 1 by one, but i am pretty sure everyone else prefer 2 bo3 at the same time, to determine the better team, than this random shit.
So here are 5 simple rules to consider for future majors. 1. No Facebook shitty streams. 2. Absolutely no Facebook streams. 3. Please do it on Twitch / Youtube not Facebook. 4.Swiss format is OK. Bo1 are not. 5.Tournaments are already lasting for a week. Plan your tournament so there is enough time for Bo3 games.
P.S. The level of dota is going UP by a LOT. And as a fan that is amazing.

I would like for tournament organizers to at least attempt to mask how little they actually care about all 16 attending teams. They want 16 teams but they don't care at all about making it work well. It's just a bunch of teams flying out to barely gain international LAN experience and top teams being the only ones getting any real experience. Hell, half the teams aren't being paid anymore so I think this DPC has quite possibly reached its lowest. Look at what's happened to LFY on top of all of that, this is a joke.

Well I may be a little butthurt right now, but this format is just trash. Yeah we should not lose vs. Col, but you can always drop a single game if you have a bad draft, or get cheesed. It's way too random, bo1 should not be a thing at any major tournament.

well good guys Liquid just want to give us more games to watch right? x) jokes aside we have had some really bad decisions in the midgame that just cost us. Hopefully the boys rally for tomorrow

i am sad right now, but its currently not working... but it will again.

Liquid often have these series, were they lose game 1, just to adjust, and win the other 2. In this format, this is not possible, and you are just fucked. You could also say liquid is a pretty bad bo1 team. Let's hope they can pull through, I would feel much better when we get to the bo3's.
|
Sucks that they lost two BO1s but they won TI so even if they're bottom 8 here, life will go on just fine for them. As long as the hell that is this BO1 group stage is over, I'm okay.

Since I do not really know the format, we need two consecutive wins now and we can still go on, right?

Everybody still so happy?

i think i am a realistic... the issue are all over there from weeks and everybody is like "lol we are TI winner no problem we will win it again lol". This irritates me, the lack of criticism it's giving a false hope that everything is ok and i think that this is not the case.
One thing that is good about this kind of threads is that when the team win and plays well we can discuss about the good things but when the team plays shit and throws game after game we can discuss about that too, but it's like this is not happening now.
Being negative and pessimistic is when you think that they cannot improve and resolve those issues and they will never get past it, but i believe that they can overcome this situation, hoping they get an hold on it and don't have the same attitude as the majority of the supporters here.

In my opinion the problem now has been the midgame and has been for a little while. I don't remember pre-Katowice but in Katowice we definitely had issues. The game we dropped to Secret was due to not being able to push the high ground and in the semi against VG we lost games 1 and 3 off bad mid game too.
I could've blamed the loss to EG on the format but if we are as good as we think we are we shouldn't have any problems against coL no matter if it's Bo1, Bo3, or Bo5.
I still believe though. In Kuro we trust.

I do still believe that they are taking it slightly easier at the moment. I mean they have a decent amount of points and are still placing alright.
you can't grind and keep up top performance all the time. Do just enough to ensure decent results and the invite at the moment, but make sure to be in the best possible shape leading up to TI. grinding non stop will just burn you out right before it really counts.

Yeah this could be a good point, but repeatetly losing games when you are 10k or more networth ahead can't be good for the morale
|
They also did not have a good bootcamp for a while now, those always do wonders for the team.
|
Well, I don't want to watch or support this tournament and I don't want to miss Liquid games. Liquid should be good enough of a team that they'll continue to torture me longer but if they don't, I can't really say that I'm disappointed.

Two days ago i watched a MC interview for a BG youtube channel.and what he said there concerns me. He said that they don't really skrim or practice togheter. Their preparation for katowice was 2 games vs secret.
People are preparing and people are good, We have to try harder if we want to be top form again. They all agreed that couple of losses from katowice were due to shitty play from the team. Plus Kuro is falling behind on drafts, as he gets outdrafted quite often these days. I mean even an average fan can see certain bans has to happen or they will ruin their lineup - for example that Timbersaw against Col. but he decides not to... Weirdly enough the burnout didn''t come after TI but couple of months later. Maybe they don't see a point of playing as they have already guaranteed a place @ TI, and their only goal is to win it again, but still - that is not the right mindset.
IF you want to be the best and the only win to win Two TIs you got to try hard all the time.

IF you want to be the best and the only win to win Two TIs you got to try hard all the time. They may not have practiced much for Katowice and Bucharest, that's true. But that doesn't mean that is normal for them now. Longer breaks between the tournaments are also very important, or you burn out sooner or later. I prefer them being a little bit easy going now, rather then when TI comes near. I think especially kuro knows how to handle his team, he is a smart guy. When he thinks it's best to not scrim that much for a while, so the players have more free time, who are we to critizise that? And you can bet they all have a second TI win on their mind, I am sure they will be ready, when the time comes.

I don't necessarily agree with that statment. You have to look at this year in a different light. Last season there were 6 tournaments with a prize pool over $500k. This season we've had 4 with a million already. Add to that all the minors. This year is INSANE for the teams and you can tell. I don't know about liquid's practise regiment but I can tell you that they're not alone. Don't want to namedrop any teams but they're far from alone. I mean hell Solo took some time off cause he needed it.
Right now Liquid is in a situation where they're pretty much guaranteed an invite to TI. They don't need to be at their best now, their best has to be like 5 months away. As they probably accepted invites to these events a long time ago they still honor the agreement, but see the events as their practise ground. I wouldn't be suprised if they skipped a couple of upcoming events tbh.
Now I could be wrong. There could be something wrong, but from observing the team I really doubt it.

Didn't they actually practice before Katowice though? Or at least bootcamp before it. Maybe my memory is shite but Miracle was streaming in the Liquid team house yelling everyone's name especially Maroun's.
