But the current Secret hasn't won anything.

Valve giving two Open spots is a good compromise. If Secret can't make it, they don't deserve to be at TI.

I think that having the previous TI winner + each team that wins a major get a guaranteed direct invite would be pretty reasonable.

Two problems with that imo:
1) What if you win the first major after a TI and then when the next TI hits your team is 1 guy who played on the championship team and 4 new guys. Valve made a statement before about how in their eyes the players get the invite, not the organization. I guess technically speaking there's also the chance of a team shuffling instantly after winning a major and not just after a slump, but who even does that, right?
2) Frankly, Manila is the only Major that should matter at this point. The patch is completly different

Unless they choose between rtz or envy, or unless you somehow find a middle ground between the 2, i really cant see this team finding success in the near future.

Gonna be really hard though... both Rtz and Envy excel at farming like a machine to hit certain timing and their team proceeds to dominate from there on. They can't do much if they split the farm, and also neither of them are playmakers.

Dis gonna sound crazy but EE back to support, Puppey offlane while Bulba mid might even work better lol

What?

EE carried so much water for W33 and Misery. They repeatedly sacked him and he found a way to make it work. His all around game is fairly versatile these days as well...

Honestly a bit more worreid about Artour.

as a none native speaker I m not sure if this is sarkasm, but w33 was clearly the reason secret was strong in the tourneys they won. I watched all games and meepo, wr, invoker, od mid plays made the games for secret in all tourneys. There was just once EE played a good and high risk ember, thats it. The slark plays are just standard.

Rtz is a way better player than EE and would perform way better as carry. If you want to have a working team, go backand get w33 and misery or kick EE, take rtz as carry and take a spacecreating 8k+ supermid.

The term "carry water" doesn't have the same connotation here as carry does in dota. When you carry the water for someone it means you are doing the hard/unpleasant work for that person, sort of like a lackey. EE often takes the unsafe farm allowing his mid to take safer farm, and many times he would go offlane to give his offlane player a 1v1 matchup

Thanks for the explanation.
But "carry water" is not the playstyle of EE on all heroes, it s just how slark, antimage and ember should get played if you want to take an advantage of their strong escape and fast jungling. I would not give this statement to EE as a person. If you give him a different hero, he plays a different role and the "unsafe farmspots" are no more a part of his plays. A good carry plays with the listed heroes above a high risk high reward playstyle.

Dont get me wrong, I dont want to flame someone, I just wanted to point out, w33 was the main reason they won the major and a lot of tourneys before. I agree on the statement, that he missplayed some situations where you really saw he wanted to make a very special play to compensate a bad situation before, but overall he was the real carry.
People hyping EE in the "old secret" never watched the replays from a non fan perspective.
You will also see, EE will not be able to win a LAN again, not with this roster and not with him beeing the reason they won.

Open EU Qualifier looks super hard. Polarity, Kaipi, Tspirit....
Really looking forward to how secret will play with bulba. If they are able to get a spot for the main Qualifier their chances of going to TI are quite good.

Major winner is automatically invited to the next Major if they didn't break roster lock rules, but not the subsequent Majors and TI. Ti winner is automatically invited to the next TI provided they didn't break any rules. Sound reasonable to me.

I don't think its reasonable. Its ridiculous that the TI winner gets the 3 majors invites + TI just because they won a tournament. IMO the main point of the majors is not having to invite teams that were good a year ago and now are a dumpster fire (TI5 newbee)

Meh. Feeling sleepy and not up for pretending to think Secret are the best team in the world just now.

Tomorrow I'll be sure to predict a 20 game win streak for Secret out of these qualifiers.

Envy is playing mid so far in the Qualis with RTZ in the safe lane (2 games in). I thought a big part of RTZ's move was he wanted to play mid again...?
