We are not talking about the press release in Secret's webpage but what Kemal wrote in his twitter.
Duck- said PR disaster given how poor the choice of words was, I agree with him and then came harioo and said we should be happy that Secret (when it is in fact Kemal) has the freedom to say what is on their minds.
The word abandon has a negative connotation where left is somewhat less negative. You can leave someone and they are on their own but abandoning someone means they count on you, they need you and you took your leave. If Kemal used the term "left" or "parted ways" instead of "abandon", it would have been neutral in the context of eSports. He didn't say "We abandoned w33 and Misery two days before the lock", of course, who would.
Kemal does not say what is on his mind, he says whatever he wants even if that produces a bad atmosphere. Right now they are in a bad spot thanks to Universe and he intentionally choose those words. Other organizations keep intern problems intern and neutral for the community/outside.
He can do whatever he wants but fans finding it ok is kind of crap, I would expect something along the lines "Well, you did the same one month ago so deal with it" instead of that freedom nonsense.
Edit: Anyway, I am done talking about this. Lets move on.

I haven't been dodging anything I've been responding almost point by point. Now that I see there's no use to doing so, obviously I'm done with that.
See the bolded is the kind of crap I have to deal with. Those two things are exactly the same. Hard to argue with someone who can't communicate properly.
Meanwhile you seem to know what my reaction was to the initial roster shuffle that started this whole mess. Of course you don't, but if you assume I was okay with how it went down the first time then you get to criticize me for being a "hypocrite" to support your argument.
And Secret literally are "dealing with it". The press release was neutral. The players haven't berated Universe. But a single instance of Kemal saying "abandoned" which is correct by any definition of the word and suddenly you extrapolate that to absurd proportions. Same thing with me. I say "it's nice to know what people are actually thinking via a straightforward tweet instead of rampant speculation as to the circumstances of the departure based on extremely vague statements" and suddenly you make up a story of things I must have said 3 months ago (I didn't) to attack me. You're the only one making up and throwing crap in this thread. Every dumb thing you've done has been posted by you right here within the last 24 hours.

Please stop talking about each other and remain focused on the subject of this thread: Team Secret.
We understand where you guys stand.

kemal is a billionaire he can say whatever the fuck he wants, thinskined keyboard warriors can flame in their moms basement all they want.
and abandoned sounds pretty correct work usage to me. maybe some kids need to pick up a dictionary and learn what that word means. when people show some emotion kids overrate and blow it out of proportions, when some asians dont show much emotion (due to their culture personality and upbringing) people call them robots. da fuck is wrong with kids on the internet these days
in secret we believe lets go fucking bulllbo bring out that inner beast and perform to your maxiumum potential. our boy rtz deserves atleast another top 3 at ti. sure everyone wants to win the whole thing but coming up top 3 in major/ti is no small feat. dont give up hope

They will not qualify for ti. There is just not enough time, they need to practice much more. It's highly unlikely that they will be good again in 2 weeks. The Rest of Europa is also pretty strong right now, so good luck with that...

but they can be an NA team we won guys

Lol, I never thought you would ever support a team with Envy. But I guess your love for Bulba consumes everything.

Its about synergy, they don't have to learn the game from scratch. If they can establish an understanding and synergy within the team, they have enough talent to curb stomp the European qualifiers. Its not like the previous iteration failed from a lack of talent.

3 of them have been playing together for 9 months, RTZ has played with both Puppey and EE and Bulba has been around for ages. Together they definitely have the raw skill, but they will have to grind it.

Not as much as i love to hate Loda ofc.

secret actually might not make it through open cuz bo1 easy to cheese. but believeeeee.
yo haters do you got no life? or are you just depress? go for a run it'll make you feel better

I don't even think Secret need to lose to cheese. They've simply not been good enough to guarantee wins against even unknown teams and it seems unlikely Bulba will change that.

We all know it means exactly what universe did, but the word has a bad connotation to it. It doesn't matter if you're a billionaire or not because you're using the statement as the official source of information.
If ronaldo leaves madrid to join barca, you won't see the club using the word abandoned. If Perez uses it in his personal twitter to announce the transfer, it invites controversy and its a gift to the media. PR disaster.
It just so happens in our case that the dota scene is young and immature, and the culture is filled with memes. That's why this incident is not that bad, but it doesn't change the fact that no official personnel should be making sloppy announcements like this in any industry.
|
Was it sloppy?
I feel like it was an entirely deliberate criticism of Universe.

Comparing esports to football is lmao. stuff like this would rarely happen in real sports because there are these things called contracts.
Abandoned is a perfect use of wording, maybe people need to find a dictionary. Seeing all these kids on internet saying this is bad for PR lmaomaomaoam, do you guys see a single sponsor logo on the secret jerseys? and did people forget about secret not paying former players see thats an actual real PR issue and secret gave zero fucks about that. Now the keyboard warriors are raising their pitchforks cuz kemal used the word abandoned (which is 100% accurate, if i solo qed and i left cuz my teammates are scrub i abandon the game therefore i abandoned them)
pretty entertaining to watch lol. keyboard warriors woooooooo. social media dumbing down generation after generation.
|
For a scene trying to achieve the same form of recognition and respect real sports have, such little things could go a long way. Right now the only reason why the scene has any form of relevance or notice is because of the huge money thrown in by sponsors for tournaments. Only valve tournaments has a model that is sustainable and have returns.

pretty entertaining to watch lol. keyboard warriors woooooooo. social media dumbing down generation after generation. No one said the word abandon has a different meaning as in the dictionary. Some just pointed it has a bad/worse connotation in comparison to leave or part ways, you can try and address that for a change. You should stop your ad hominem and keep your fanboyism in line because you are referring to people who never said Secrekt or anything along those lines.
I have seen you post and you are not like this, please go back. There is many people in this thread who do not deserve to deal with this kind of thing, that is why I stopped answering to harioo with the yada yada comment. It has to stop and go back to a discussion bearable at least.
I want Dota to turn into a real sport that can be practiced and respected everywhere I go, I don't want to curse a country because some players do not receive a Visa due to Dota no being considered a sport. What Kemal did is a stone in the way to achieve that, if some 17yo kid did that it is understandable but Kemal is big man, he should be an example. If you don't care then move on and lets discuss another topic regarding this team.
