yeah agree. I'm not really sure what to make of it though. You can't just NOT give an invite to Secret/EG after having won the major, can you?
Reducing the invites down to at least 8 or maybe 6 would have easily been possible this time though. Lets say you have 6 teams invited: Secret/TL/EG/MVP for top4, Wings + VG for best results/winning a tournament in the important time period. Rest is up for grabs and you suddenly have 10 slots for invites. Let's just say 2 per region and 2 final Wildcard ones at the event itself between the teams that placed 3rd (or even 3rd + 4th if you want to have more games).
They'd get so much less shit for something like that. Still not perfect but a step in the right direction. But OG, [A], Navi, LGD fanbase big and buys tickets~

It'd be great if, for the next set of Majors, Valve clearly enumerated guidelines about how they decided invites and how they will decide them going forward.
Of course, it'll never happen, but if I were a team I would sure as fuck want to know. Maybe they do and it's only we as the fans that don't?

I don't get how in the wake of better and better relative performances from qualified teams, it would seem like a good idea to increase the percentage of invites.
Weird, backwards decision.
