Envy should stick to having the top 3 pub MMR and stop pretending he has any chance at winning TI or doing an interview without embarrassing himself again. It's the only reason we even have these discussions, Akke for example is a much more intelligent and skilled player with an interesting real life story and a real job but he rarely makes headlines because he doesn't randomly insult people or have a Twitter account mostly about hentai stuff or anti-social mentalities.
Holy shit, you're annoying. Whenever anything about EE or C9 comes up you're the first to spout some bullshit. I remember you also saying Fata going to C9 was a downgrade for Fata LOL.
All he said was he thought xiao8 shouldn't retire, it's an opinion, he's not telling him how to live his life. And "Hentain" lol, really? I'm not a fan of anime but if you're just gonna misrepresent someone like that in an effort to make them look bad, it makes you look like an arsehole.
You're seriously so biased. Keep living in your dream-land.

I'm not saying there's stuff wrong with a lot of what EE says. But he needs a media training class. There's a way to say what you mean and sound like an immature prick, and there's a way to say what you mean and sound like a mature adult. Look at what he says about Secret Team; it's pretty reasonable, really, but it's phrased in a way that makes it seem petty and stupid. It's not about being blunt or frank; it's about choosing his words more carefully and communicating what he means. He's just... really not good at that.
And then of course because this is the internet, there's the EE speaks truth to power camp and there's the EE is retarded camp and neither one wants to be reasonable. In conclusion I'm going back to GD where things are normal.

dude he actually _is_ one of the best players in the world. now if some pubber in my trench 4k bracket acts the way he's describing, it's instant mute, but EE? or really any TI player calling me shit and telling me what to do in a game? dude he's right. he IS better than me, and you and 99.99% of the dota population. i'd just have to accept it.
that's why it's fucking hilarious to see all these nobodies ITT being mad at EE's straightforward and completely truthful assertion of his own superiority as a player. not realizing how good he is, is just dunning-kruger.

Dude, he finished 5/6 at TI.
Alliance didn't even get top8.
Great opinion.
Honestly I think its a good think we have an unfiltered voice in Esports - we need it really. Esports has a lot of fucked up things about it, and very little journalism ACTUALLY talks about (yeah, esports journalism sucks). Having an outspoken person like EE is important in this scene I think. Even if he flames other players (like, what sport doesn't have this?)

I'm with you Irish. The kid speaks in declarative statements and comes off like would be Dota Jesus. I don't think EE is the devil, he could use some PR training and learn to think a little about what he is going to say.
Also, calling GD normal is a stretch.

The Envy hate is so real in some people that they will discount any of his accomplishments and say he's awful anyway, like this retard Oakenshield, in an effort to validate their opinion of him.

Respect a bunch for him. Leaving a dream come true and speaks all of his mind of.

Two or three months and C9 not going to win single game against Secret Team.
Secret team is just better at every aspect, better mid player, better captain, better carry and starpower ofc.
for something he doesn't like he'll say no and say it's fucking stupid. rofl singsing <3

I think EE is one of the honest and more respectful players that we have. He doesn't tolerate bulllshit, and I can accept that. There are a lot of things you can say about Envy's character, like straightforward or dedicated but respectful really isn't one of them. For example: http://i.imgur.com/U5qkSXW.png?1
I still like his attitude toward the game tho, he wants to be/challenge the best so which makes his comments on Xiao8 understandable.

love this kid. fuckin jacky mao everybody.

Going to assume everyone defending EE for "speaking his mind" is also an Eminem fan because he "speaks his mind" (in fact every other song is about how he speaks his mind and how hard it is). If someone is good at what they do and they speak with no filter they are a hero because no one else is saying thing which need to be said!
Of course, people ARE talking about payout issues, they are expressing opinions about how weak or strong other teams are, they just have better personalities and/or are capable of presenting themselves as having better personalities.
I mean I get it, I do. If you were in EE's position you would talk just like him. People who have grown up in the real world would not. Big old shrug.
[Edit] Of course his assertion of dominance over his pub team goes so far as the "I have decided we will lose so I will destroy all my items and then feed" business. Love that! Glad so many people admire and respect him.

Ah, SingSing fanboys. Also, yeah, we'll see about that. Not sure how you can say who is a better captain when you don't know the inner-workings of each team either. "Star Power" isn't a measure of success either, C9 did better than Na'Vi and Alliance at TI.

It has nothing to do with being straightforward. It has to do with being straightforward in a mature way. You can be frank yet respectful. EE sounds completely immature when he speaks. Nothing to do with the underlying content (though I think he could have skipped the part where he pictures Xiao8 as some school bully which annoys the other kids in the playground, while himself act more like a kid).
It still a matter of opinion I'd say, but when I see reactions to post of people who dislike that way of talking from EE, I'm somewhat even less tempted to be a fan of him...
Oh, and being good isn't an excuse at all. Quite the contrary in fact. Coming from SC2, he makes me regret IdrA (and god I didn't like him... )

inb4 xiao8 unretires and is total noob tier. all the greats in history have always fought/played until their last day, example: alexander, flash, michael jordan etc
retiring showed what type of guy xiao8 is
this interview solidifies EE in my mind as being a cool and collected, i like it

Hum, LightOfHeaven was suggesting they were pausing on for no reason to make them late for StarLadder or something so they could get a free win. This a year ago anyway since they're using Kaipi tags. but I guess this happened in a vacuum where EE just decided to say "fuck yourself" out of nowhere and we should ignore everything else said in that screenshot and the context of it.

Seeing as every single TI champ so far has lost motivation to continue practicing and doing the 24/7 dota life, Xiao8 should really just chill and only come back when/if he's hungry again. It's kinda like when Alliance lost every finals to Na'vi after TI3 and bombed out of MLG. Most people don't remember that and/or don't care, they remember Alliance 3-2'd Na'vi at TI finals.
As for beating Xiao8, pretty sure it means beating every other TI winner too and winning 2 TIs. That'd be really cool to see but I don't think any team with EE in it will accomplish it. Even with the top 6 placing I don't think I can put EE in a top 25 players list for performance at TI. Interesting that they knew they were kicking Sing well before the VG game though, wonder what went wrong.
