A blue has posted that although that discipline regen set bonus was unintended, that they most likely are not going to be nerfing it. Nothing guaranteed of course :p

dunno if I'm breaking the thread rules here but I prefer doing 10m Act2 runs (after comparing about 20 runs of this vs Act3 farming, this route came out on top for most lvl63's per minute)
the life steal, move speed, and passive mf let me stay in archon most of the time keeping this as brainless as possible, allowing me to enjoy podcasts/audiobooks/music

I don't get why it shows 4.5k armor on your profile page. Did it somehow upload the buffed stats?

yeah 4.5k is w/ energy armor, makes me wonder if you can cheese the dps/mf numbers with a shrine

I am depressed after looking at all these profiles with 50k dps and here I am a poor monk stuck farming act 2 with 22k dps / 400 resist (225mf) and can't afford a single upgrade without dropping more then 10m a peice that doesn't seem worth it since I'd need like every slot upgraded to survive in Act 3 I'm guessing... I think that choosing physical resist in combination with wanting MF makes your upgrades so expensive.. If there's some item with nice dmg stats, dex, vit, all resist, phys resist and MF you are competing with filthy rich demonhunters... One obvious upgrade is your weapon and it will not affect MF or PhysRes.
If you want to do A3, i think it might be worthwile to save up 20-25M and build a new set of gear around a different resist with no/less MF (i personally prefer A3 with no MF over A2 with MF). Then start adding in MF items if that is what you want, hoever, A3-viable MF items will be expensive!

Thanks for the input, I thought about switching to a less wanted resist, but plan on leveling a DH sometime so figure i may be able to share some gear.. Probably need more ARes for DH tho. After I beat Inferno on the barb alt will try a Make barb my 0 MF act 3 farmer as collecting an running through white mobs to 'help' keep the up between packs or during packs seems like fun. Variety makes things less tedious I suppose. Wish they didn't nerf nightmare GF runs so my poor wiz could do something.
Nice gear FGL, I am sad I have twice the elite kills as you and half the gear lol ... >_<

I have a 19k damage (unbuffed, about 21k buffed) phys monk with 230 unbuffed MF running A3 comfortably. There are many improvements you could make but first and foremost, I would change your skill build. You don't have the gear or DPS to run Overawe. You need Mantra of Evasion. Also forget cyclone, go with blade storm, and drop your crit gear for tankier gear. I have no crit at all. I would also drop mystic ally for breath of heaven blazing wrath.

My build and gear listed is still just running the standard Vota+ run. I went crit+mf at the same time and all the gear I had (ias+loh focus) when I beat inferno the first time (30k dps etc) I sold on thr RMAH the last time I "cashed out". I have started to re-collect a non-MF crit/ias set. I just can't sand attacking slow, it pains me to death with just 15% ias from DW.
How long do typical Act 3 runs take for you? I beat Inferno on my barb and could do a 5 stack siege breaker run with 0 MF but the quantity of rares was at 1/3rd the rate of my VOTA runs, especially getting to 5 stacks with 0 MF is unrewarding. Barb and monk both ~20k dps. And on that note, farming with a budget WW barb that cant blow packs up in less than a minute is... a lot of work!!!! All that mouse moving to keep spinning and laying tornadoes down in the right spot. With fists of thunder I just hold left mouse and automagically teleport to the elite every time it moves until it dies. I also fail at overpower/ww... still find it clunky as my tornado placement is terrible as many times I burn rage on sprint and only lay one down against the wall. I sort f enjoy running thru trash packs and dragging them into elite packs just to generate rage. Act 3 monster types are more annoying too... Can't beat the ease of skeletons or goblins >_<

Running that mainly, got LoH rings to swap for against reflect dmg, also shield and helm to swap for against a particularly durable affix combo.
Also run a different build that is WAY tankier, using shield and tank helm, blur instead of glass cannon, prismatic instead of pinpoint and increased dmg instead of teleport rune on archon, but that is mostly against bosses only. Or just when I am lazy.

My objective is to get to 225% unswapable / 300 with stacks MF gear.
I could jump to near double the damage if i got a natalya's set but i am really not a big fan of swaping....
Act 3 is not a breeze like it was with natalya's but with my skill setup i can still do it pretty fine if i time shadow power and smoke screen ....

my first char was a monk and i REALLY dont think you should do a mf monk
all resistance + mf + dexterity are for over over over billionarie dhs
its cheaper to roll any other class then equip yourself properly the way you want ....
