Thanks for any input. I'm not really sure you should keep on sporting a String of Ears, especially since you could get up to 150+ more STR from "regular" belt - not to mention all res and probably something else on top of that, depending on your budget. The shield, though it has amazing stats, is not a sacred, and the 1k more damage per block that a sacred shield gives you should be kind of a big deal when you're surrounded by stuff. Also, +41% life looks great, but if you're under 1k VIT it just won't give you a lot of HP anyway, so consider either dropping some STR for more VIT or dropping some life% for some plain old VIT. Depending on how you want to juggle STR-VIT values, then (I'd advise to get the sum of both as close to 2700-2800 as possible, around 3000 ideally I'm told), you could change your rings for more crit/crit dmg or more tankier stuff. Additionally, if you get more VIT, Nerves of Steel might give you more armor than Tough as Nails. Just my 2 cents.

I'm farming Act 1 on my Wizard now and it's getting kind of stale, so I'd relish the occasional change in pace.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/trinxified-1614/hero/2139049 These stats are buffed with Warcry and Battle Rage, along with Enchantress. My AR is around 880-900, so I'm at the 10:1 ratio with armor. My crit stats are 42% chance and 344% damage. I don't want to jump the bandwagon and do WW/Sprint build, because I've tried it and it's not my thing. Do I really have to do that to just be a successful Barb with a limited budget? So what do I really need to improve? Right off the bat, I think my weapon definitely needs an upgrade, and maybe the shield? Perhaps I can sacrifice my 54k DPS and get more Vitality, AR, Block %, and/or changing my current skill set? Please advice! I got about 45 mil right now, and I have spent almost 70 mil on my current gear (Skull Grasp being the most expensive at 25 mil, and the other ring for 15 mil). The rest of my gear is 5 million or less a piece.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Iscariot-1538/hero/20922818 I'm doing that new trendy WW/Sprint build, but I can't even survive act 1. Do i swap for more res? What do I need to work on? I fairly new to barb. But i've been comparing to other good barbs I know (don't know them personally lol, so couldnt ask questions) My stats arent as good as them, but it seems I hit the minimum yet i still fail horribly. I don't know that much about tanking orientated barbs, as I was sprinting before it became the bandwagon ![]() However, you are another victim of the crit damage addiction; your weapon sucks (which you have acknowledged). I just ran the maths, and that crit damage on your weapon is increasing your total DPS by 26%. That means your 813 DPS weapon with a bucketload of crit dmg is the equivalent DPS of a weapon with 1026 DPS with no stats whatsoever. ![]()

Thanks. Now this IS my area of expertise ![]() Swap frenzy for Overpower + Crushing advance. I sound like a broken record, I know, but I absolutely think it is the best WW/Sprint barb build available. See my comments on the previous pages for how to make it work. Your gear is ok, but you're not quite there yet (but you're close!). I recommend trying to reach the following (buffed) stats for fresh WW/Sprint barbs: 45k health 1400 LOH 45% crit 700 AR These stats will permit you to beat all of inferno. Basically you need a bit more AR, and some more LOH will make things a lot easier (the easiest/cheapest option is probably just to use a LOH gem in your offhand for the moment). Once you have the gear to safely and reliably kill stuff in inferno, you can tweak your stats as you see fit! Something that often seems to be overlooked is attack speed - it's really, really helpful. It not only improves your LOH returns, but you get greater fury gain from your sprints.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/BlackXistenZ-2929/hero/3406592 i spent around 8 mil on this barb. so its a total budget barb. (the mainhand, the left ring and the boots were selffound, the shoulders were those of my dh.) i have around 5-7 million remaining - how would you use them? i think the left ring must be replaced by something better, that should be priority number one. then my second priority should probably be to improve my mainhand. i can do act2 without problems and also most of act3, but the killspeed in act3 is not yet high enough to make it more effective than act2. any thoughts or suggestions?

And Bash or Overpower? With Overpower, do I activate it and then run around as usual? It's harder to start up like that.

I would say your mainhand is your biggest priority - it's the piece of gear that influences your character the most. 724 DPS is really low, and your mainhand is used for 90% of the damage output of a WW/Sprint barb.

With Overpower, do I activate it and then run around as usual? It's harder to start up like that. I don't like answering questions already recently covered in the thread :/ Movement speed is very important for a WW/Sprint barb. You generate more tornadoes, it's easier to generate tornadoes, it's easier to run circles around enemies, and it's easier to catch up with the enemies that try to kite you. I currently have 11% movement speed on boots, and I can really feel the difference between them and my 9% (MF) boots. Use overpower (with crushing advance). It's really not that hard to use with practice, and it's an overall superb ability. Your opening sequence if on 0 fury is: Attack enemy for 1-2 hits > War Cry > Battle Shout > Overpower > Sprint. Usually you will be able to sprint. If not, you will be on 15+ fury right now and you just need to take a few hits from an enemy to get going. If you manage your fury well it should be very rare that you need to start a new fight this way though; you should aim to leave every single battle with a freshly buffed Battle Shout and 100 fury.

Drop battle rage and one passive for ignore pain/leap and superstition and see how it goes. No need to change gear on purpose... skills are cheaper! I am still playing this old style, cycling leap/ignore pain/potion when needed (act III only) and I still love it.

So after switching to the WW/Sprint build from the usual dual-wield build, I easily beat Act 3 and Act 4 with my current gear and minimal deaths (maybe less than 10), so it's quite crazy how super effective it is. I did the Bash Instigate skill instead of Overpower Crushing Advance though since I had a hard time making it work with Whirlwind on left click. I really wanted to stay away from this trendy build, but it didn't work out with my budget. I had problems finding a good shield for a tank build, or finding two good weapons for a dual-wield burst build, so I caved in and jumped on the bandwagon. Anyway here's my gear and stats: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/trinxified-1614/hero/2139049 Stats are buffed with Warcry, Battle Rage and Enchantress follower. Total AR is at least 805, LoH at 1424, LPS at 658, crit chance and damage at 50.5% and 265% respectively. My DPS only at 45k, and my Sprint tornadoes don't really do much damage since my main hand sucks. Good news, is that my off-hand DPS isn't horrible so Whirlwind deals decent damage. My survivability is very good, since my LoH and LPS (helps A LOT!) are pretty good, along with the 7 yard pickup radius. The only elites that gave me a hard time are the ranged ones that kite or shielding/invulnerable minions. But I think that's a problem for all WW/Sprint Barbs. I can definitely improve my items, especially the main hand axe, more armor to reach the 10:1 ratio with AR, and generally just more DPS, but since I beat Inferno already, I don't have the motivation to keep going and just farm. Anyway I'm looking to sell my gear set, so I'm asking if you guys would know what the value of my items are. I'm mostly at a loss with my Skull Grasp (not a lot come with both CC and CD), as that is probably my most valuable one and hardest to price check.
