Quick Qusetion regarding a crit build, is 35,5% crit chance ok or what number should you look for? I dont understand the question. Are you running some critical mass build ? Otherwise there is no need for some minimum or maximum in crit chance. Its just the best dps boost item budget wise. Thats why people go for crit now. You could also ask: Is 1400 int enough ? You see very vague question. Or are you looking for the most efficient crit rate/ damage ratio ? Then you have to use some spreadsheet, what is better for you damage or chance, when looking for a upgrade.

Available dps attributes (in order of importance) 1. Crit chance 2. Crit DMG 3. IAS 4. INT Gearing for Top DPS Pieces that contribute most crit chance: Gloves: 8.5-10% Neck: 8.5% Source: 8.5% Helmet: 6% Bracers: 6% Rings: 4.5% x2 Pieces that contribute the most crit dmg: Wpn: up to 200% (100% + sock gem 100%) Neck: 65% Gloves: up to 50% Rings: 34% x2 Pieces that contribute the most IAS: WPN: 12% and multiplicative Rings: 9% x2 Gloves: 9% Neck: 9% Pieces that contribute the most Int: Every piece Bottom Line: 1. CC > CD > IAS > INT, focus on maxing out as much dps attributes on available pieces. 2. Take advantage of special dps attributes allocation as the following: Priorities breakdowns: a. WPN with high crit CD + soc b. Necklace with high crit + crit CD c. Gloves with High crit + crit CD, ias optional d. Source with high dmg + high Crit. e. Rings with high ias + crit chance. f. Helm with high crit + int. g. Bracers with high crit + int Gearing for Top Defense -take advantage of dps attributes allocation on different pieces, and for the pieces that do not have alot of dps attributes available, focus on maxing out defense. Available def attributes (no order of importance, because every attribute is important to get max effective health) 1. Armor 2. All res 3. HP (vit + % life) Pieces that has the least amount of DPS attributes (only int available): 1. Chest Armor 2. Pants 3. Shoulders 4. Belts 5. Boots Follow the following simple tips on reaching max effective health while max dps: 1. Armor to res ratio 10:1, so if u have 5k armor, u should have 500 all res. 2. get as much HP as you can obviously, but have armor and res in check first. 3. Chest and pants should have 3 and 2 socks respectively for int gems to max dps. 4. Boots should always have 10%-12% run speed, non-optional

When you got that low resist, force armor isnt helping much. I have 26k hp and 800 res with prismatic*and can take 7-10 hits from act3/4 mobs. Resist is better than vitality with prismatic armor on.

Force armour is only way for me, I tried prismatic and survivability is wayyy worse with only 400 res and not a huge health pool. Also 2nd post up wtf they're nerfing crits now...?!??

It's also nonsensical. 800 res is 72.7% damage reduction, on a 26k hp lifepool, it's just 95k EH (considering hp/resist only). Your 39k with 400 res is 90.7k EH, and if you put prismatic on, you'll have a significantly higher EH than he does. If something 2 shots you through force armor, it's more than likely it straight up 1-shots the 26k hp dude with prismatic. On the other hand ... what on earth is 2-3 shotting you with force armor and those defensive values? Skull cleavers, shaman fireballs, and those fatso charges are about the only attacks that do more than 10k damage to me with lesser resists.

Phael just a random thought, but you should totally remake the "wiz discussion thread" and make it epic, with all your knowledge laid out cleanly with spoilers and bold font, maybe some pics, etc, you know. Maybe do a builds section, maybe lay out your own knowledge about what each might be good for (and not good for), how to level efficiently, etc etc. Seems like you already spend a lot of time thinking about wizards in D3 and posting about them here, might as well channel that power into something way sweet lol. Also you could have a section where you take sick posts like the one above that easily lays out what the max Crit % and other such stats are on each item slot. Just an idea. NB doesn't do a damn thing in his OP lol

I'm melee btw If you're going a tank build you should sack some of that armor and resist for more HP. After you stack a lot of resistances/armor their effectiveness diminishes pretty quickly.

When i started this build, I aimed for 30k dps, 30k life, 10k armor, 1k res, and 2k intel. I doubt I'll be going backwards on armor and res.

It's amazing for a signature. I would recommend to use Blizzard/Arcane Orb with it. You can pretty much clear nightmare with any build though it's up to your style. edit: Also, never considered Critical Chance/Damage at all.... been spamming/buying INT so far (I'm only level 51 atm though). Thanks for posting it here though!
