the start of the season was absolutely magnificent, i pictured chelsea as completely unstoppable this season at first, pretty much until they lost vs liverpool. :p

The last team Chelsea has beaten who was top 15 in the premiereship was Bolton back on the 6th of December 2008... I would say that is pretty bad for a team of Chelsea's caliber. This is especially the case when they started out the season raping anything and everything in their path.

I think it is the same case for Tony Adams, sold defoe and diarra and where did the 35 million go? He was basically working on a budget because HR had got all the players on crazy wages.

Sure he was underperforming, but Chelsea isn't in that bad of a position atm. 4th in the league, only 7pts behind 1st and still in the CL. If these are Roman's standards now, then the next manager better have balls. The story here is more about Abramovic's ineptitude as a club owner than Scolari's credentials as a manager, which have been well proven in the past.

Yup you're totally right, this is about Abramovic not really knowing what he's doing. Jose Mourinho is an exceptional manager but I don't think Abramovic realised what he had. Mourinho turned a bunch of random skilled players into a team that won the premier league by the largest margin ever. I think Abromovic thought "This managing is easy, anyone can do it. All you need is good players." So he first decided he was going to be in charge of buying all players (like Shevchenko); then sacked Mourinho for playing "boring". He has since realised that actually winning is more important and Chelsea haven't got more exciting anyway; they've just lost more.

I agree completely with your view, abramovich just doesn't know how to run a football club. Chelsea just doesn't have the right players to play an "entertaining" style. Their cms are uncreative and they have no true wingers to start with. Both Mourinho and Grant shouldn't have been fired. I mean, Avram Grant ALMOST won a treble yet be still gets fired. Now, there's unlikely to be any quality managers willing coach Chelsea.

![]() I'm not too sure if it's a good thing a super manager comes in right now, how much of an impact can it make, managers need to be given time as shown by Wenger and Ferguson and at this point of the season the manager might not even be here for next season even if he takes them to 2nd, e.g. Grant. So I think leave the high profile manager to start afresh at the end of the season
