Bayern drew in their first game of the season. Arsenal picked up a 1-0.. Tottenham still sucks. Liverpool too, apparently, 0-0 with Sunderland at time of writing ;o | ||

Today Barca vs Boca, boca was winning at min 73 and the game was over they gave 5 minute reposition time LOL and Barca scored 2 goals and won! Both headers, 1 Puyol 2 Eto'o | ||

Newcastle was out to prove themselves after getting utterly destroyed by United last season, I think they even lost one of the games 6-0... ManU came in with a severely gutted squad, seven or so starters out because of various reasons. I predicted ManU scrapping a 1-0 win with their severely depleted attacking resources finding a goal, and the Ferdinand/Vidic wall keeping them out of danger, but Newcastle was much more dangerous than I expected (and the set piece defending was pretty mediocre). Given was godly as usual, and Jonas Gutierrez really impressed! Any of the La Liga fans want to give us the story on him, since I hear he was one of the key guys at Mallorca last season. | ||

Valencia 3 - Real Madrid 2 Entertaining game but not because of good football (too early I guess). Next sunday, the 2nd game at Madrid. @Jonás Gutierrez, the whole team improved a lot after they signed Manzano (coach) once again. The funny thing is that Gutierrez left Mallorca using "the hated" FIFA's 17 art. "A player older than 25 years old and who has been playing for a team for more than 3 years can break his contract in his own". EDIT: About the Real Madrid strikers issue from the previous thread: RM is playing with two 33++ year old strikers, and that's a mistake IMO. They only get speed and dribble on the wings with Robben and Robinho. Also, they get tired earlier than their defenders. Van Nistelrooy is still scoring but Raúl is fading out really fast. RM needs or a quality signing forcing Raúl to leave his spot or rotations to leave room to Higuaín or Saviola. Keeping the sacred cow on his spot no matter what will only give bad results. Even spanish national team improved when they got rid of him. I love Raúl and will always after all he accomplished for Real Madrid, but he should realize he is slowing the development of younger players and the whole team. Villa and Silva are the best players for sale at the moment (Valencia has problems with his debt), but it seems they will stay one more season there. | ||

Anyway, there was a time when Newcastle were really strong and would come 2nd in the league, but that was around the previous time Keegan managed them eheh | ||
