They would have been around 4 years ago. But after the 06 World Cup, the team fell apart. Hopefully the new blood could inject some excitement back into their play, but with Dunga as coach, meh.
And Yes Walcott is english, but he wouldn't be in the starting lineup if Eduardo wasn't injured.

Currently Argentina is the number 1 ranked in the world right now as well, and if you watch them play I think they could give Brazil a pretty good run for thier money.
(I'm talking about national level not olympic also)

i wouldn't place the blame for this one on madrid, the guy played like 8 great matches for barcelona before being benched suddenly. saviola had pretty much already been killed by barca before madrid picked him up.

Spain is the number 1 actually.
And about Saviola i don't think Barca burned him, if that was the case Madrid wouldn't had take him. Madrid was the one who kill his career putting him on the bench all season with almost no chances to play. Anyone give me a Madrid game where Saviola was on the starting 11? I think now they are also going to kill Guti's career since Van der Vaart just arrived.

yeah anyone except Venezuela and recently Paraguay -_-
Saviola always had bigger house names behind, at Barça and Madrid. But he "succeded" everywhere. Again, Saviola wanted to stay at Barça when they were trying to sell him so no blame on Barça for killing his career, also he picked RM between many others, and there were already Raul and Ruud so, he knew he had big dogs there too.
You are picking bad examples, aim for the kids from the youth teams and I will agree with you. Soldado and Portillo, record breaking strikers, even beating Raúl stats from the youth teams, both 5 years on the bench and now regular strikers with wet gunpowder. Or years ago people like De la Peña or Sergio Garcia went almost unknown being talented as hell.
About Mati Fernandez, he is at Villarreal growing and growing. Will play Champions League this year.
Real Madrid seems to have signed Santi Cazorla already. This small dribbling winger was the thirteenth man this Euro for Spain, he came in every game after Fabregas. Also Valencia stated that they will accept a 50 million euro offer, and with the Robinho deal almost done, I believe it's gonna happen. Van Nistelrooy + Villa is gonna be sick, I hope they send Raul to the bench finally =/
Come together to the white house kiddos ^^
EDIT: Santi Cazorla got caught this afternoon talking with Casillas via mobile phone by some media: "I talked with Guaje (Villa) and he says thay maybe he comes too... ok, but help me a bit, I will be a newb there". lol xD I love this Summer Market gossips xD
i was always under the impression that madrid signed saviola because they were able to get him for very very cheap. fantastic player + free transfer = awesome deal, even if he only mostly comes on as a sub?
raul has always been one of my favorites, he was showing incredible form this past season after a couple of seasons of injury + shitty play, but i'm going to guess that his deal with the devil will be over soon and he'll have to make way for younger, fitter talent :p
I don't understand how Valencia got into so much debt, they did well in Champions League and La Liga, never spent a lot to buy new players. Yet they have to sell their best player now. I like Juan Mata though.
the best teams need to have world class benchwarmers as well otherwise they're fucked every time theres an injury, and they happen all the time.. cant really do anything about it. I guess they could be better / regulations could be better in regards to lending out players, but then the teams would really depend on being allowed to retrieve them instantly in case of injury, and teams usually dont wanna help their competitors
Cazorla just confirmed his renewal for the next six seasons with Villarreal. lol, 5 days to spanish market to get closed and so many things still in the air xD
great to see shevchenko back in milan...too bad he sucked balls at chelsea, he was never really able to adapt. he sure had his chances though...only medical to go eh?? i think he's still a decent striker, although i honestly believe his best years are behind him...good luck to him
Sheva did alright in the other competitions but just very badly in premierleague. I also hope Chelsea don't actually buy Kaka, that'd be just ridiculous
something strange... I found out that the arsenal game tonight is on BBC3, which is unusual to last season to say the least. I always thought that ITV has the broadcast right to both games in CL on the same night, or did something change. Nothing major, but I am just really confused by the tv coverage these days with so many broadcasting network.
