GL Robinho in England, I hope you succeed.
But, honestly, that was like (non-monetarily speaking) the WORST deal for him! Robinho always talked about being the best and playing at the best. Now he is going to play for City, who became a good team but still is like top5-8 at England, and even worse, he is now playing the 2nd team of a city. Also, he is going to always be undershadowed by CR and Manchester's news. That may be a little too much for his pride.
Seriously, Robinho is a piece of shit. It's the 2nd time he does this. He did the same 4 years ago when he wanted to move to Madrid (hell, he even STOPPED playing for Santos, said he would only play again if Santos agreed on selling him), and did the same thing with Madrid, a team that bought him to make him their number 10.
If Robinho wasn't successful at Madrid he has only himself to blame, in my opinion.
[edit] lol I just read my post and it looks like two completley different person writing the beginning and the end of this post =]

Robinho is an idiot, this is a huge step backwards for his career. However City certainly did make a statement by stealing him away from Chelsea. All in all I'm just very relieved we finally got Berbatov. Even if he's 27 and cost a fortune. He'll be a hit like Ruud I'm confident.
|
Well, that proves the whole issue had nothing to do about being the best of the world but earning more money. I'm sure he is going to be a huge failure there. He needed more than a season to adapt to spanish league and his play is very linked to his mood... Next Lazynho is here...
|
Its smarter to sell him to City then Chelsea, considering they might play againts Chelsea at UCL later on.
|
Anyway, Robinho has to sign his contract, I mean, he has to accept the deal. He could had put more pressure and end up going out to Chelsea on December but he just wanted the higher fee and accepted.
|
Madrid is gonna fail this season, i wouldn't be surprised if they decided not to play with wingers and do a Milanesque formation. Reports are saying they offered Villa 55mil, but failed to sign him, so they must be really desperate for a striker.
Also, does anyone know what the english transfer record is? The Robinho transfer might've broken it.
|
I can't imagine Villa not moving for 55min, I mean Valencia is in debt. It's surprising that even in the modern world of football where money rules everything, there are only so few options available and most stars are simply untouchable.
|
ahahha Naun hahah robinho "is" going to be the best of the world at city, ya, right.
|
Trade/transfer deadline has been reached.
ManC got ripped off. 40 million € for a player who has proven nothing besides he can do some fancy tricks that don't help at all winning games?
And Villa stays at Valencia. Maybe if it was another team, they would have selled him. But not to Real Madrid.
|
probably the best deal for RM and worse for city? Robinho will come to EPL, take a few hard tackle, get an injury and cry like a bitch. RM will try to survive the first part of the season (probably can, not like robinho was amazing), then have some massive cash to spend.

Robinho to Man City..... unbelievable
I was reading the text live on the BBC website last night, it was entertaining as usual. Messages such as:
1009: "My mate Phil is a Cabbie in Liverpool City Centre and a season ticket holder at Anfield. He has it on very strong word that Rafa Benitez will sign a cut price Michael Owen as cover for the injured Fernando Torres. Welcome back to the prodigal Son." Gavin, Ellesmere Port, via text on 81111
1117: "My cousin works in the booking centre for British Airways - she just processed a seat from Madrid on a 4pm flight for one Robson de Souza aka Robinho." Richard via text on 81111 "Great rumourage. Nice booking desk twist. Eight out of 10. (Said the host)"
1318: "I live and work in Chiang Mai, Thailand and my live-in maid says her ex-boss's cousin's brother, who owns Chiang Mai United is presently in talks with Thaksin Shinawatra about a possible takeover, since he's DEFINITELY selling Man City. However, since I don't speak very good Thai, she may also be telling me she's not coming into work on Wednesday." Spurious Transfer Talk on 606
Joke of the night of course was Man City.....
1942: "My dad's a limo driver and he's just texted me saying he had to drop off Gigi Buffon, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Steven Gerrard, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the City of Manchester Stadium." kingkennyskop on 606
But it's the City fans laughing this morning, I'm lost for words.

im pretty surprised...robinho to mancity? wtf...and i thought chelsea were the ones after him...and will you look at that, manutd finally get berbatov...how come there wasn't much news (like with robinho being linked to chelsea) regarding this berbatov move?? or was it just me being ignorant again??

LoL!!! This is getting funny, a manager who did fucking well, saved them last season (not really) and then got 4 point from 3 games (including trip to MU and ARS) got sacked? or walked out? He probably did this on purpose because he is upset from the way he has been treated and lack of contorl over transfer policy, so he decided to go straight after the window. now nufc can't do much because no manager wants to come into a club that sacked their 'messiah' and has to wait forever to bring in new people.
|
Don't think its because of the money, Robinho went because he was put on a spot after him insisting to leave Real Madrid, if he would had stayed , he would had been even MORE hated and unwanted,i bet he would had go anywhere in England just to leave Madrid
|
I guess I am looking forward to see him play, never really impressed me at Madrid and 30+M is OTT, I think Shaun Wright-Phillips is one of the most exciting players so looking forward to seeing the two of them play together.
There was a story in the papers today that Man City will bid £135M for Ronaldo in January..

Yeah apparently their new owners are 10 times as rich as Roman Abramovich. Abramovich is said to posess nearly 24 billion in assets, so imagine how much money City can get from their new owner. Football really needs to start considering Salary or Transfer caps if this sort of stuff keeps going on.
|
It's sad how much money these new owners have.... it's saddening, perhaps this will eventually mean soccer's fall... I mean I would never feel like part of a club owned by some rich man who can buy any player at anytime (thus leaving modest clubs with no option to compete).
|
holy SHIT how rich is the owner of Man.City? he wants C.Ronaldo now and a massive bid, some other sources say 180m euros http://www.goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=846455
this guy is serious about making City the best team in the world "We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United." Sky Sports News reported earlier today that Liverpool’s Fernando Torres and Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas were also bold targets of Al-Fahim
|
I don't like that too kemoryan. Sometime ago I even posted about how I didn't like Chelsea because of Abramovich. I don't like the idea of any rich guy owning a team and buying whoever he wants.
[edit] I don't know if its like this that it works for international clubs, but there are some cases of brazilian teams, and its usually like this:
a company or guy comes and buys the players representing X company. They buy the players (in the name of X), and "lend" the players to the teams. After sometime they sell the players for a much higher price (usually) than the price they paid for. It has happened with a big brazilian club, they bought a lot of players (Tevez, Mascherano, Carlos Alberto (played for Porto), Roger (played for Benfica)), and then they took them all out, one by one. After that the team went from National league champion to the 2nd division of the league.
