The last thread that was created on the Coronavirus was removed because moderation didn't think that the initial post was "rock solid", and that they didn't like the direction that it was going. So in order to reopen the discussion I have to attempt to make a "rock solid" opening post.
Here is the old thread, if anyone wants to read what was in there:

Here is BNO's tracker, which I consider a great resource at tracking official numbers of confirmed cases and deaths around the world. They tend to update quickly.

Here are two subreddits which have probably the greatest concentration of resources in terms of not only facts and statistics, but also discussion among people who are concerned or interested.

I am not sure if this OP is rock solid enough, because I am not sure what rock solid means. There are no opinions posted here, so I suppose that seems pretty rock solid. If someone wants to create a discussion with an OP that has more numbers and visualizations or whatever it is that moderation wants, then I would be glad to update this OP with that, or perhaps that could take over as the new thread. Otherwise, I am a person with limited time, and I don't really understand what it is specifically that should go in here. I'd hope we don't have some sort of weird gatekeeping over a topic that is as important as this one, and I'd hope that TL can remain a place where people are allowed to have free discussion of ideas and events without moderation feeling an overbearing need to constantly steer the conversation to what they personally think is important.

Wow you seem bitter about people not agreeing with your hysteria.
Edit: So from your source: Recoveries rise exponentionally, new cases slow down, suspected cases are actually dropping. Did I get the colours wrong? Seems fine. Health authorities and governments handle it fine and open imo. Except China obviously. Reddit is normally no source for me. The first thread I opened some days ago was that it was biological weapon from either the USA or China itself. They could not agree on the agressor.

No new cases in my area in the last two days, which is good news as they have screened the patients at the hospital where the sick doctors were found. While some larger gatherings are being postponed or cancelled due to the virus, it seems more precautionary than reactionary at this point.

Biggest concern for me is hopsitals and how that plays into it. This is a long infection. Hospitalization often takes 5-8 days, and usually onset of respiratory difficulties wasn't until around days 7-8. with ARDS beginning shortly thereafter. This can easily last a period of 1-2 weeks, longer in severe cases needing full ventilation.
Our hospitals struggle to deal with flu surges, and sometimes even to treat cancer patients. If we start having thousands of new patients needing this kind of support...the hospital system is NOT going to be able to meet this demand. Take away that kind of support, and the CFR is going to rise, possible drastically.
This is especially worrying when you consider that around 20% of cases are having severe pnuemonia, and around 70% are so are showing mild pnuemonia. Granted, these numbers likely represent an upperbound as many estimates suggest actual cases could be an order of magnitude higher, with those mild ones being unreported...but even so that's 5-10% developing pneumonia with a disease as infection as flu.
I'd love to hear more about the prep work being done to handle patient swell if we do indeed see the seeding of local epidemics over the coming month and a half.

Yeah... Okay... travis, instead of throwing a temper tantrum like a little kid, please act like an adult next time. If you want to open a new thread without the obvious butt-hurt rock solid comments, then please feel free to do so.
