I think he mentioned the world cup, the Japanese spent huge sums into building stadiums (some even in protected nature reserves) and had later little use for some. Only now, 14 years later, are most of them used as regular soccer stadiums (albeit only third league in one case). Also, the upcoming Games in Tokyo are already making headlines for ludicrous amounts of planed money spending. | ||
