I think his actual catch number will drop, but his ypc is going to be bonkers. I don't get why NO does that though unless you are blowing it all up on offense. He's the best player not named Brees and it isn't even close. And Unger is good but he's 28 going on 29 so even if they are going rebuild that doesn't make sense. I dont know i have a feeling for one side this will be a massive bust, not sure for which.

Pats now have to replace Wilfork, Revis, and Vereen, maybe Browner too I also think people vastly overrate the Patriots ability to repeat. In the 10 years since they won #3, they were the best team in the AFC at least 5 times, probably 7 times, and won 1 title. The Colts, even though they kind of suck, can win 1 game by virtue of having Luck, the Broncos are the Pats equal if Manning is 90% by the end of the year (instead of 40%), the Ravens nearly beat them this year, and the Super Bowl is always going to field you a hard opponent. I mean, its not like they were some sort of lock to win this year either.

I've been saying for a while the the NFL's biggest market inefficiency is trades and some teams are finally figuring it out. It's absolte anarchy, and I love it. Trading takes even more thinking and manipulation than a solid draft (as drafting is usually just one of several components to a trade). Plus I imagine more people have to be on board with a trade than a draft. I imagine this is at least in part because owners/execs would be more engaged in trading away a top jersey seller than they would on which lineman a team drafts.

I'm still an Eagles guy but I'm def hoping Foles is successful with the Rams. As for Bradford, I find it unlikely Kelly got him to play him. Kelly has had injury issues with his QBs the last few years and I really doubt he wants to play someone with as much injury history as him. It's not like Bradford is the most mobile QB either. I'm more inclined to believe that he wants to use Bradford as trade fodder on draft day. Bradford likely has more upside than Foles in the eyes of many teams anyways. If he does start for the Eagles though I'd def be happy about that (if he can stay healthy), though I'd PREFER Foles. I think Kelly really undervalued Foles personally but I guess we'll see.

Overall this is great for the Rams imo. You dump a huge contract and Foles is on the last year of his rookie contract so there is no huge obligation until after you see him play.

Dunno how well he'll fare in a 4-3.

Thought the Ngata move was interesting. Basically a salary dump for the Ravens who had less than $1M in cap room, but that seems weird considering that Ngata only has one year left. Figured they could have cut someone else.

So wierd O.O Especially since Bradfords contract is so much bigger and he is unwilling to renegotiate it. The Rams-Eagles deal gets more complicated: Rams get: Nick Foles, Eagles 2015 4th rnd pick, Eagles 2016 2nd round pick Eagles get: Sam Bradford, Rams 2015 5th rnd pick, *conditional 2016 pick *Conditions: Bradford doesn't start 50% of games in 2015 Eagles get Rams 2016 4th round pick If Bradford doesn't play at all the Eagles get the Rams 2016 3rd round pick. If Bradford plays more the 50% of Snaps the Eagles get no additional picks. Note: No 1st round picks were swapped.

I guess i shouldn't have said not really all that comparable because there are obviously some similarities but having someone like Kap in the pistol completely changes how teams approach the run game on both sides. On March 11 2015 05:28 URfavHO wrote: also, the niners pretended that kap was a paraplegic pocket passer last season. So it's not like anyone was really expecting kap to run it. (I should note that the aforementioned 5.0 ypc stat was from ESPN radio and only from the previous season) I expect the eagles to attempt to sign Brandon Browner next. or perhaps Stephen Hawking. I think those have the same likelihood. Kap set a personal record for rushing yards, and was 2nd in the league this year. And they only moved up from like 30th to 26th for total Z% of plays called pass. And I also read that they ran the read option more than ever this year. There were a lot of issues but a lot came back to Kap. speaking of the niners, I do not like that contract for Smith. I think he's an ok #2, and the Niners desperately need a speedy deepthreat to help the offense, but they massively overpaid for him. $40m total with $22 guaranteed for 700-800 yds a year yeesh. Things have gotten so bad that the Niners have to go nuts on mediocre players

okay this move foles trade has confused me. even if it is just to use Bradford as a bargaining chip, why not just use foles in the same way.

Patriots will hopefully look into someone like Cromartie if they lose Revis, Browner can be replaced, Wilfork was less effective than his usual self but they still need someone else. Colts actually get my money on coming out of the AFC next year, that defense just got better and the running game could be there.
