Please keep the QQ to a minimum if you do not like this update. We are happy to hear your reasoning for not liking a ranked system, but no "OMG VOLVO WHY" posts.

It was pretty funny and I felt he was mostly joking around. The part where he demanded people commend him for reaching GM in SC2 was amusing. If he brought that attitude to a team of skilled players, I am sure it wouldn't work out. But we can hopefully assume Testie is smart enough to know you need to keep your ego in check when your on a professional team.
Lmao please play with him once and you will find out Testie's got the ego with the size of Mt. Everst. No doubt he was good at HoN, but he was certainly not an elite tier player like Trixi, Hanni, etc.
Then he is an egotistic player who is good at video games. Like we don't have a lot of those anyways. I don't know him and I am not part of the elite teir of players who gets matched with him. But if I saw someone talking a bunch of yang about me in a thread, I would likely respond.
What did I say? I said Testie was a big fish in a small pond, which is pretty much true because he got quickly phased out when guys like Trixi, Scandal, Phe'v, Hanni, etc. came about. Everyone in the HoN community pretty much knows that Testie is good, but he wasn't the best. So when I said that at the beginning of HoN's life, there's 0 excuses for anyone to say they are 'stuck' in 1500 PSR/MMR bracket when Testie reached 1900 relatively easy, and he's not even the cream of the crop. I didn't even insult him, I merely pointed out the fact that if he can stomp his way to the top of the ladder, there's 0 excuse for anyone to be stuck at beginner level PSR/MMR.
I think actually being at that skill level is an excuse to be there, though I could be wrong.
apples and oranges, ppl like chu and testie were just pub stars while people like hanni and trixi actually finds real teams and competes. good for testie for making money on a dead game but man does he need to tone it down a little even when talking to noname wannabes.

The point was that if Testie a pubstar could get to the top of the ladder, there's not really an excuse for anyone to be stuck in 1500 PSR. That's the point. It means that as long as you have some dedication, and if you are legitimately decent, you should have 0 issues moving up on any kind of skill factor rating system. The fact that Testie got all butt hurt that I called him a pubstar that got phased out quickly is just a nice little sideshow.
well i never disagreed on that with you, but you keep thinking i do for some reason. i disagreed with u saying hon rating were such a joke to obtain and any average dota player can get 1800 especially pre mm.
all will be good with the world when dota mmr finally releases and there will be non of this made up rating nonsense.
All of your arguments have already been deflated and you're repeating yourself like a troll. First off, you weren't there in the comp scene, clearly. You're an outsider looking in with a very skewed fanboy perspective.
When Chu & I formed team EZ we went 8-0 vs Hanni's / akke's team, "team OK". We did this very easily and very convincingly. None of the games were close.
I was the best player on EZ at the time by a wide marign as Chu was shaking off rust from LoL and the rest simply weren't performing as well with the exception of semijew / bdiz. Chu was still solid but he'd played LoL for nearly a year. 8-0 is a lot more convincing than 3-0. I believe all of those were in different tournaments in the 2-3 months span we played together. As soon as I left team EZ, team EZ did very poorly and died soon after. So don't attempt to say I got carried, the results were there. Hell in the finals vs EG over 3 games I had a combined score of like 48-2.
So with a shaky / new team we came in and were one of the favourites for tournaments after I took a long break from the comp scene due to me instead of focusing on profit and providing for my girlfriend rather than competing for small prizes that are split 5 ways.
I already agree with you that Hanni is an exceptional player, but to disregard all the blatant evidence that our team was the favourite for so long vs so many teams is ignorant. Not to mention with literally any serious team I had played with in hon, we reached the finals of every tournament. The only time I did not reach the finals or win a tournament (vs all those players you so happily list) was when I joined a team "domain for pain" which was supposed to have a VERY different roster than the one I joined. I stuck with it until I figured the people I wanted to join it weren't joining it, which is very unfortunate because it was going to have great potential.
Also, do not badmouth chu's skills. All hon players agree he was godly amazing when he played in his prime. Apparently he has come down with an illness which makes him lose focus and he can't keep his skill up like he used to. It's very sad, because he was EXTREMELY talented.
So what you're saying is "Hey, testie you had the best stats and best record and reached the finals of almost all the tournaments you've ever entered since you started playing online games, but you were just a pubstar you weren't very good". Not to mention the ladder success.
That's retarded, and so are you. Because few people have that kind of success and to argue against it is folly.

I would be pretty shocked if it wasn't out by Thursday. Valve tends to announce their updates right before they happen and not leaving you wondering if it's gonna be the update.
It's gonna be so hilarious if after that lengthy blog and rank system comes out, the search time still 5 minutes lol. For majority of the players, I doubt they care about how Valve's search algorithm does.
So now we have rank system, any bet how long are they gonna put surrender button in?

If searching 5 minutes means a balanced game for once, im all for it. I remember waiting 5 minutes or so for HoN, and it was well worth it because I wouldnt get people "drunk playing mid invoker with first item blademail for the lulz" in my games.

5 minutes is not long at all, I don't mind waiting 5 minutes for a decent ranked match..

Not to mention I routinely wait close to 5 mins now for queues cause I don't play AP. I play CD and RD and I choose the option to only play with other solo queue people. So it increases my wait time, but makes me not have to be solo against stacks so I'm fine waiting.
