Please keep the QQ to a minimum if you do not like this update. We are happy to hear your reasoning for not liking a ranked system, but no "OMG VOLVO WHY" posts. |
No offense to hon or hon players, it was a great game and I loved it almost equally to dota. But running a businesses on hon in these days feels like milking a dying cow. It is smart but is it really morally correct?

That's a good point,
I respect all of the players on fnatic a lot actually. However in that particular finals I couldn't get my team to practice a single game not a single scrim because NA players are either too busy with other engagements or doing w/e it is they do. Their lanes & picks were 100% better and they had a lot of synergy and outplayed us. But in individual skill we could have made a much better fight of it had our team had some more dedication. Trixi is one of the best and in hon I rated him as one of the best players. It doesn't surprise me at all to see Fnatic getting success in Dota2.
If I could make a team of SCBW / SC2 koreans (dedication wise) and make it worth my while to go competitive, I will again in a heartbeat.

I look forward to ranked MM, especially CM and higher ranks. Could be really good in the higher brackets.

We need to get testie's opinion on other hon -> dota transition players. We need to know which ones are bad and getting carried. EternalEnvy? n0tail? Korok? blowyourbrains (phev)?

Let's get this straight, from every single ladder I've ever played on I've had the best stats with the best win % since forever. Cloud ladder, WGT, PGT etc... Hons ladder as well. There were some other starcraft ladders inbetween cloud/WGT/PGT and I crushed those as well.
That might not mean a lot to you 99.99% of people aka not me who can't do that, but that's pretty special. You're probably the same trash that hides behind his shitty stats and low ranking to say, "stats don't mean anything". To you, they don't. Because they don't tell the story. I have the highest TSR (True skill rating) on hon for a reason. So far I think I am the only person on hon who has a perfect TSR of 10 in over 100 games. The next excuse people say is "lol you have supports doing their jobs for you stacking". Trust me if I had a support of my level doing my job, I'd be doing even better.
I've recently had Starcraft 2 grandmasters come in and commend me on how damn good I am. Trek and Piqliq both recently said, "Back when we played brood war I thought you were the best" that's pretty high praise from Trek a player as skilled as he is, and Piqliq a SC2 grandmaster. And when I was in my prime in BW it was pretty much the popular opinion at the time. I've played games at a higher level than someone like you ever will, you do not get to talk down to me and just list your favourite players who played the same game as me (hon) and were defeated. Their teams could not touch ours, we knew they were freewins going into the match.
In Dota, I literally only played exclusively with friends, I didn't enter any competitions with any of the better people I played with. No offense I don't think you can use my dota days for anything except a set up for hon considering there weren't competitions that were really interesting at the time and the player base / attitude was for the most part shit. The few tourneys I played in, I played with team mates who were far below my skill level and I think we still reached the finals in every single one. I never met a dota player I felt was better than me, though I did meet a few that I thought would make decent team mates in Garena scrims.
The minute I switched to hon, I shot right up to #1 and #2 on the ladder in which I traded places often with Chu. I joined a team, and we became the #1/#2 team instantly with no real work and no real team building. This continued in hon despite my team never really putting forth the practice that I would have preferred of them. All the players you've listed were worse than me, they did not beat me in any tournaments yet they played and tried. Was their motivation & team composition the same it is now? No. But does anyone play to fucking lose? Not anyone respectable at least. I always placed #1 or #2 and had the best stats in literally every single game I have played since I began playing online games, and you try to argue this?
As for levent, you do know he was the second worst player on our team, and I was widely considered the best player on every team I have played on thus far.
The day I have to switch games again is the day I start the shit stomp process all over again. "lol testie you can't make it in starcraft", done. "lol testie you can't make it in dota", pretty sure everyone I played against feared me and did their best to keep me down. Every game I played the teams were almost always stacked against me in inhouses. "lol testie you can't make it in hon it's much faster than dota and harder to play", 1 month -> #1 rank. Now I'm going to hear "lol testie you can't make it in dota2". ROFL. I've made a living off shutting people like you up, and I will continue to do so. I hate seeing streams like "#practice #dedication #streaming for the viewers." know why? Because they are weak.
Right now I currently run a business on hon, a business others have tried to replicate but do not do nearly as well. Because guess what, skill and stats matter and my stats show that I will succeed more often than them.
I stream 12-14 hours every fucking day playing all day ignoring everything else that is not doing what I love. I don't need "motivation" to play. I pour my all into it day in and day out without wavering regardless of what little shits like you say. Here is my summery of this rant "I'm a douche, The end."
lol seriously this testie guy shouldn't have posted at all. master class in doucheology 101.

All this is making me wonder if chu is ever going to consider switching to dota 2 since he always said he had a massive love affair with meepo.

Superstartran needs his MMR so he can compare his skills against others so he can bully them all day. Thats how it is apparantly, he want to be that ubergamer! But really, we are better off not knowing if "sal the neighbour" is better or worse according to statistics. U will still be statistically paired with similar skilled (which is what u apparantly need...), but u wont be able to talk to others down how better u really are ingame. Best solution ever against increasing toxicity levels is not knowing!
Also. Eventually someone cracks the mmr rating and a mmr strats will come that will help u improve ur mmr asap (not ur skill). Bronze to masters by apollo. There will not be a supportrole in the pubs anymore. A support does so much stuff that isnt measured, which is needed or helps wins games and teamfights buy stuff for others to shine in stats. The shit i can pull as a support which isnt transferred in KDA's, does the MMR calculate that, dont think so because it isnt in the statistics. I can support like a boss and most of it wont be recorded in mmr statistics. I can make a mediocre carry look like a pro. How do u rate my mana aura as a CM (becuz i have 1 less skill to utilize so it must be worth some mmr right)? Or do u add all the manadamage dealt to my mmr and not my teamm8's? Also, I think randomplayers should get a mmr bonus, agree or are they not comparable to picky players in mmr? Do u rate the healing from a meka or not becuz sometimes teamm8's dive to far and then i could get points for that? Statistics dont reflect a dynamic teamgame with 10 different personilaties and goals in 1 game. A transparant MMR could even result in less diversity in games becuz it becomes a bronze to masters game. it will get boring by rightclickheros and fade away like so many others.
Again, i am not saying mmr is bad (i like mmr in individual games), but i am saying that mmr can also negatively influence a teamgame and gamingcommunity. Hopefully volvo and icefrogger will monitor there dota2 "stats" closely. But i believe that in a game like dota2, not everything is "stats-able" and can result in boring games in the future (same heros day in day out just so we all get to masters)

testie is a really skilled gamer... given the right environment he could succeed in pretty much any game I think. Maybe not so tactful but he's pretty much right imo

Did I say Testie was some dumpster? No, I said he was pretty good, but not the best *rephrased for better clarification* (which is true, his teams were close to the top and he had some stacked teams, but every time they got close to winning something big, they got majorly outplayed in part due to Testie's inability to play more than one style). My point was that if someone like Testie could be at the top of the ladder in HoN, then there's no excuse for any that is decent to crossover and climb the HoN PSR/MMR ladder.

God, some of you have either no self-respect whatsoever or do not care about what you are doing with your lives at all. It's kind of sad as I grow to understand my words mean nothing to you, but hey, better worlds lie ahead. Everyone will understand that in their own way, but know this: while there is no true absolute value in anything, if what you do matters to you, then there's no discussion to be had with nay-sayers.

But we can hopefully assume Testie is smart enough to know you need to keep your ego in check when your on a professional team.

Lmao please play with him once and you will find out Testie's got the ego with the size of Mt. Everst. No doubt he was good at HoN, but he was certainly not an elite tier player like Trixi, Hanni, etc.

What did I say? I said Testie was a big fish in a small pond, which is pretty much true because he got quickly phased out when guys like Trixi, Scandal, Phe'v, Hanni, etc. came about. Everyone in the HoN community pretty much knows that Testie is good, but he wasn't the best. So when I said that at the beginning of HoN's life, there's 0 excuses for anyone to say they are 'stuck' in 1500 PSR/MMR bracket when Testie reached 1900 relatively easy, and he's not even the cream of the crop. I didn't even insult him, I merely pointed out the fact that if he can stomp his way to the top of the ladder, there's 0 excuse for anyone to be stuck at beginner level PSR/MMR.
