The NYC guy totally intentionally injured price. He could have totally went HEAD first instead. And the referees weren't doing their job to call penalty on it.
as goal totals continue to decline in the NHL... all you stats experts can examine the rate of decline in goal scoring. players are crashing the net harder and harder and referees are afraid to call it. the solution to this problem ultimately must be bigger nets.
check out what Bernie Parent and Ken Dryden wore in the 70s and look at what goalies are wearing today. No wonder scoring is down. There is no room for the shooters.
Decrease in Scoring in the NHL Just put average goals on the Y-axis. Year of play on the x-Axis... joint the plotted points with a fancy curvy Taylor Polynomial and THEN take the derivative of the taylor polynomial. if you really wanna be fancy you could use a different cubic spline to complete 3 points at a time.

The whole thing happened because Emelin got torched and tripped Krieder, who starting slipping back and shot. I'm not sure that is intentional. But I really do hope the Canadiens keep on acting like it was intentional, because it is just going to mean more dumb shit from Prust, other dumb antics that will result in penalties, and maybe shit ass Dog Murray playing for TOUGHNESS. Emelin is already getting burned a lot, esp by Kreider. Seeing Murray plod around out there would be hilarious with guys like Kreider, Hagelin, and MSL on the ice
with fading memories we hold #24 high... so much for raising #25 to the sky...
Patrick Roy is a once in a lifetime goaltender and Montreal fans have to stop hoping Price or Halak or whoever can come any where even close to matching his accomplishments.
we have some idiots here though, that think winning the cup doesn't mean much... we have guys who think a Conn Smythe doesn't mean much either
i'm waiting for them to dismiss 3 Conn Smythes and stealing a series against the 1996 Red Wings ..an all time great team lead by Bowman... and don't forget the '89 run too... actually that's already happened.. but that would be bringing up the past...
something Montreal Canadiens fans are o so good at.
au revoir Montreal.
Bowman on HC@12
why is Bickle playing better? Bowman : " more ice time and on the power play, Chicago needs a net presence during the power play, Bickle is it"
is Toews the best player in the game? Bowman: "he is close to it and he is a clutch player, so strong on faceoffs, " (stats guys guys note the use of the word "clutch" here)
Bowman on HC@N On LA: " this LA team we are facing is a lot better than they were last year .. both teams can play 4 lines.. its hard to be a 4 line team if the other team is not... "
On Price Injury and playing Budaj v. Tokarski Bowman: " Tokarski has won every where.. he won a big game in Kitchener in the memorial cup... playing Tokarski would be a big gamble." Bowman noted how bad the Bulldogs were on defense and so they need to look at Tokarski's stats through that lense.
NYR Bowman: "they looked to me like a team that would have problems scoring goals"

Yeah, cus Carey is 39 years old and his career ends with this season. And now his season is a failure... Because he is injured. Leaf's logic :D About matching Roy's accomplishments... how many Olympic gold medals did he win ? (I'm not saying that either one is better, because comparing players from different generations is dumb.)

its montreal fans that constantly do that. i'm responding to their pleas of Price's greatness.
Ummm during Roy's career he had 1 shot at the Olympics. Carey Price has had 3. Roy played better in 1998 than Price did in 2014. Canada dominated the 2014 Olympics in a way that had not happened since the days of the CCCP.
Also, Greztky's anglophone gang made sure Roy was shut out of Team Canada until it was idiotic to not include him. So we get Fuhr surrendering 16 goals in 3 games and the '87 series gets called a classic when really.. canada ate'em for lunch.
Could Roy have backstopped victories in multiple best-on-best events? of course, especially right after the berlin wall went down.
When Price wins even one Conn Smythe trophy... or even gets Montreal into 1 final they really shouldn't be in...lemme know...
au revoir Montreal. Its Montreal sans Carey Price versus the Rangers tonight.
this will be like one of those old WWF/WWE bum matches where some guy named "Ron Hutcheson" has to fight Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.
Scrivens got the start against Sweden, i wonder if he'll now go all the way for Canada at the worlds.
Roy didn't steal that series against the Wings, Colorado had a really good team in those years besides Roy. He also laid many eggs in pivotal moments against the Wings as well.

Roy had a63 save shut out to clinch the Cup that year.you don't know what the fuck u r talking about guy. so much for Colorado having a really good team and "The Beezer" keeping it close.
lavrez on youtube.com has the entire 6 games series. any one with half a brain can see Roy was fucking phenomenal. Marc Crawford got schooled, and kept getting schooled by Bowman.
you should re-watch the games if u ever even watched it to begin with. Avs were good, the Wings were better. Even the sweep against Florida, Roy played fucking great in the finals making it a sweep and making it seem easy. Vanbiesbrook was fucking amazing that year and Roy made him look ordinary.
Ya, that is why Roy won the Conn Smythe a 3rd time in 2001 because he sat around and did nothing each series. I mean, New Jersey, Brodeur, Neidermeyer, Lamoriello, they were paper champions.
And, really, the Conn Smythe is the easiest trophy to win in the NHL, right?
where is that guy who was complaining about Miller not getting a start in the Olympics because he was just as good as Quick? i guess USA hockey and the St. Louis BLues management are all idiots.

Are you out of your mind? Roy was amazing in that series, try actually , like you know... like watching the games.
MTL are done. Even fat Ginette cant save them. What sucks though is that habs fans will think they lost because Price was injured, not because they had an inferior team.
I'm a Red Wings fan so of course I saw the god damn games. Roy was a piece of a team, a team that was very good. You know they were the second seed in the conference right? Giguere stole a series against the Wings, Roy played well yes but don't pretend that he carried the Avs kicking and screaming to victory.
And this condescending "watch the games" crap should stop, its really annoying and pointless.

As you know, the Red Wings lost 13 games that year, and they were a better team than Colorado, end of story.
