Edit: And it looks like Trump all but said that brokered convention = third party run.

Having Boehner endorse Ryan gives the establishment a chance to see how the idea does. No one is *actually* expecting a Ryan run, yet. Boehner is a great choice for giving the idea a spotlight without commitment. edit: I think the bigger deal is the fact that the establishment is STILL not willing to work with Cruz

At the end of the day Trump will probably be 20-30 delegates short of where he wants to be, which is enough to make the path forward difficult but not enough to guarantee an contested convention (yet). I wonder if Kasich staying in hurts Trump more than Cruz.

And rightfully so. | ||

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-to-skip-next-republican-debate/ Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he will not be attending Fox News' debate next week, citing prior commitments to speak "in front of an important group of people." Trump told "Fox and Friends" during a phone interview that he was "was very surprised when I heard that Fox called for a debate." "I think we have had enough debates," he said. "We have had 11 or 12 debates. I did really well on the last one. I think I have done well in all the debates...But I think we've had enough. How many times can the same people ask you the same question?"

He did have a coy non-denial today. "Anything can happen". He'd a fool for to fall on the sword for a bunch of old men who can't admit they're losers though.

ScotusBlog ranked him as the most conservative of Obama's potential picks and he seems to be regarded as a moderate. So, will the Republicans take the moderate now, or hold out and risk a liberal later? I wouldn't be surprised if they change course given the state of the election.

Dude clerked for Brennan, so I don't know how conservative he'll end up being ![]()

I don't care if this guy is moderate or even a bit conservative. It'd be taking the high road and offering the GOP an olive branch. I do believe in a certain balance to the court. Hillary will give us some more liberal justices though (but not too left). We won't see another Scalia for a long time, if ever.
