Yep..this'll be my new CS:S thread. Who plays, and where do you live. Note, if you live in the USA, post which side.
I'm playing again, USA-West.. Getting the skills back up and what not. Playing it when I'm not playing WoW..
I remember there was a few guys who played on here. But haven't heard anything in the past 40 years so.. yeah. I saw a guy named NewbSybot, and asked if it was the guy on here..but he was a newb yo, and that guy always talked like he was good..so maybe it wasn't him.
Oh yeah, post if you are good too.. and if anyone knows what channels on irc you go to to do those pug matches. Damn Evade, maybe he still reads these forums and can tell me :O
I'm average - decent..but unfortunately, I've been playing free money servers and use awp only..so that won't get me far if I try pugging it :[

I play the game, I'm not good actually I suck but I can beat bots regularly , when I play against others I usually get frustrated ALT-f4 and go play halo2. About servers I didnt even know there was a difference, I just open steam and pick the first game available.

LOL some noob just said 1.6 is good LOL, poor noobs think they are right, i dont know why but they relaly suck, i played it again like a month ago ( quit right after 1.5 became 1.6 b/c 1.6 is gay) and it SUCKS, but i started playing again when css came out b/c its really freaking good, i play scoutzknivez alot and or random public servers

Well, someone is noob because he doesn't think like you? Or because he plays 1.6? Personally, I do not see what is so wrong with 1.6, it is still one of the most played version.

1.6 is the more supported game and was named World tour game of the year by CPL.
1.6 is the better competitive game. In fact after Starcraft I'm pretty damn sure 1.6 has the next largest and active community.
I play both but I am completely 1.6 now because our clan wants to go up in CAL right now.
1.6 takes more skill than source I don't want to hear any arguing.

scoutzknivez/awpmap/etc are the equivalent of moneymaps.
I prefer 1.6 to source but don't play either.

i was in love with CS beta to 1.6 for a while, and played some source.... I was actually pretty good back in the day, but only as a pub guy... never really got into leagues or anything

yeah, i do okay in pub..me and a couple guys on tl.net did some scrims..was cool. want to do it again
then again, that was on 1.6..which i can no longer play and was/is/will always be gay

Bnet kiddy strikes again......
Source is more fun than 1.6 though mainly because it's so fast paced and you get awesome dying animations

yeah i was one of the guys that played with you back then, i think it was only me you evade and midian. Im Canada - west so i should be fine for ping.

Actually, they fixed 1.6 so it didn't require a supercomputer to play it about 6 months or a bit more after the official release. Today it's better and more accurate, has better flashes and smokes than 1.5
I know, I loved 1.5 myself (it was the one I began to play competitively in), but the only advantage of this version compared to 1.6 is framerate.
Someone said CS:S was faster paced than 1.6? 1.6 is quite a bit faster, more accurate, recoil isn't as random, no useless objects in the way cluttering the maps amongst other things. Sure if you think it's fun and has cool "death animations" (there aren't any - havoc) go ahead. Whatever is your preferance.
Just because something is newer doesn't mean it's better. Source is valves very own game engine where as 1.6 uses id-games modified quake 1 engine. That says about all...
Edit: And yes I've played several matches ladders leagues in source as well.
Why are people playing broodwar even today? There are lots of new shiny glossy games out there...

people are playing broodwar, my young and inexperienced friend, because it is not a downgrade from a more spectacular game with much better graphics and UP TO DATE PHYSICS. Because something is "newer" doesnt make it better maybe be true but that doesnt apply to counter strike in the least, 1.6 was never better than anything, therefore how could it be better than source...thats right, it cant. Now tell me why, in reason form, 1.6 is better than source from any possible angle. I think you have made it plain and clear w/ the info on the quake engine that 1.6 blows
(aka quake = lol + cry)
p.s. people are ALSO still playing BW b/c its balanced, just like css is balanced, just like 1.6 is not or do only use the AWP also...
