He will make new brands with team tinker/secter with LoL teams and focus on other titles with EG (like Halo).

TL;DR: you acted on Velocity/EG before we had time to react but no more double dipping for you, Mr. Garfield.

GGA and Kelby can claim that they are "only involved with sponsorships for clg" all they want but Alex Garfield essentially has influence over 3 lcs teams now.
|
That really sucks honestly. All it does is get an old brand that people from outside of LoL know(EG) and another newer brand that has picked up steam(Alliance) out of League forcing them to get league specific brands. Don't see how this helps Riot at all. Having cross game brands in League is important, they don't want to isolate themselves from the rest of gaming even further.

For fuck's sake Riot.... really discouraging, one of the reasons that got me into watching more LoL was the fact EG name was there... wont be the same, doubt Ill be cheering for the new old EG since it has no team brand, none of the previous players.... Sad times.

Lol, Redox, pls :D People were saying same shit when [A] appeared in 2013.
It's same in football, agencies behind teams are way more powerful than teams itself. Alex lost nothing in this, but won players. I'm only interested in brands now.

have to agree seeing as the new rules don't change GGA's power at all, getting rid of established brands seems like a net loss for Riot but ok.

Holy fuck, like, seriously. Read this at least. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3277/la-liga/2013/12/19/4489797/the-falcao-factor-how-third-parties-gatecrash-footballs-transfer-
It's real net worth for Riot, losing EG/[A] brand is hilariously weird, EG is biggest established esports team in West, not even TSM is close. But Alex doesn't lose anything, players are still his, so if someone buys Froggen/Pobelter, it's net worth win for him. I hope, Maelk is going to have okay name for org. GEM is probably good example of selling players, like, First, YoDa and bunch of others have teams but rights for them are GEMs most likely.
On less serious note, Incredible Miracle and HUYA Tigers just qualified for OGN 2015 Spring (can i call them LCL finally?), not spoiling it because other thread spoiled everything,

Do you really believe that some like Maelk that works full time for joindota and have literally 0 clue about LoL was/is running Alliance? Also in Alliance roster in control by players and they choose who to kick etc.

And I have even heard of football transfers where money of clubs was involved and where clubs had an influence about where a player goes. Do you really not see it? You go from the obvious "agencies have an influence in football transfers" to the ridiculous "agencies are more powerful than clubs".

Rule's not practically enforceable anyway, so if Alex really cares enough he'll restructure his organization in a way which he still controls the teams.
China already proved 2 years ago that it's completely impossible to enforce one-team-per-organization in ONE region. Riot acting like they can enforce it across EVERY region is an obvious bluff.

I don't even mean to imply I care about the 1 team rule, im just annoyed because the new rule does nothing to gga but it does harm league's own branding
Its just a really weird/dumb choice
