1200 i think. My sens ingame is 96% and it feels great man i dont need to move my mouse a lot and i have a lot of precision. Plus i am playing on my laptops 1280*800 resolution so its just perfect anything above 2k on that resolution is just redundant.

I use 1800 on 1680x1050 resolution, it's just what's most comfortable for me. I like to be able to reach everything on the screen while only needing to use my wrist as a pivot and not needing movement at the elbow or shoulder.

Also 6/11 and 54% or whatever that other thread suggested. Basically the software settings are 1:1 so that I can adjust all sensitivity with the mouse drivers.

You should be putting your windows sens at 6/11, and your SC2 sens at 54%

Then adjust your DPI.

I saw one of these threads last week, and it prompted me to crank up my DPI (still compensated decreasing game sense), and I have to say my game feels faster, as in, I feel that my movements aren't so stuck.

I was on 800, and now I am on 1600 (I think). Kept Windows sense on 7, and pulled SC2 sense down from 54 to 48%.

Currently rolling with a cool 1000 DPI, feels the most natural to me.

4200, 6/11 Windows, 51% on SC2.

I have a very limited area on my desk (actually a small square table) and have learned to play with high DPI, using some bastardized fingertip grip in which the lower portion of my palm is in contact with the desk.

5200+ (11/11 Windows 100% SC); I'm comfortable with it. It's not a problem for me, so I don't really see any point in changing.

I use 1800.
was just thinking that maybe ninjas would train with 5000 DIP like in Kill Bill how she has to learn to punch from 2 inches away.

1600. I was moving up from a cheap 800 dpi mouse to a naos 3200 (3 speeds only: 800, 1600, 3200). I tried them all for a few seconds and went with the 3200 for awhile, felt much better. Then on a whim, I switched to the 1600 and tried it for a day. After awhile it didn't feel much slower, but did feel more accurate. Also, larger hand movements meant less tiny-muscle-movement stress effects, so after awhile gaming my hand felt less tired.

I have no motivation to really participate in this thread (I ended up participating :/ ) since I have done so in the past on this forum, in threads like these. There are many of these mouse threads where you can find your exact simple list of people talking about their settings as well as a good discussion about the same things.

As a personal note, I really dislike it but it seems there is not really something that can be done about duplicates of these kind. Almost every month there is a set of thread types that repeat, things like promotion bug, bm and rage, mechanical keyboards and I'm forgetting a ton since there are so many.
It's a shame really because I find myself not being able to adapt as time goes on.
It actually induces some sort of rage inside me and the only option seems to be to stay away.

A lot of people in this thread seem to be confusing DPI with sensitivity. DPI = Precision, Sensitivity = Speed.

Obviously you want the highest noticeable DPI, especially if you're running at a high resolution. I run at 3500 dpi, windows 6/11 and idk what sens in SC2.

This is pretty dated but still has a lot of good information from the CS community on mouse optimization. http://www.overclock.net/mice/173255-cs-s-mouse-optimization-guide.html

It is DPI that grants accuracy. How that translates to you being able to use it is what we call precision. DPI just makes it so that it registers more and thus is more accurate for movements. But since we are humans, we cannot comfortably control up to that level, tiny shaky movements, inconsistent wiggles suddenly cause a ripple effect.

That's why many people use a low DPI setting, the error in it's accuracy is offset by you not introducing errors yourself, creating a more consistent experience. Which is eventually what matters because that is how we can measure and label something like precision.

--

For SC2 you should turn off the sensitivity ingame completely, it puts it on the 51 setting someone figured out was the best.
And don't use mouse smoothing, I saw a guy advocate that I was like lol, it's vsync for the mouse. Also disable `enhance cursor movement` which is acceleration and download the regedit fix that also disables acceleration and turn it off in the drivers etc.
Set your mouse sensitivity in the Driver to 100%, that way no information is filtered, lost, and wrongly adjusted for. The same happens when you put windows on 6/11 and then the game with no effect. It will have a direct link sort of where no software is adjusting the sensitivity. It has to sometimes guess or scale and that can cause minor inconsistencies I believe.
Then you use the DPI to create the type of control that you desire.

For FPS a good way to triangulate this final setting is to point at a point in the wall, say the corner, and strafe around it while keeping the cursor there. You either fall behind or shake way too much.
And then there is different distances so you need to make a compromise for that.

Donno why it bothers you that threads get reposted from time to time, its not like every thread on the front page is chalk full of info.
