But seriously, i've always been a fan of toss, although I played terran in broodwar. New game, time to mix things up.
This, but went the other way.

The Zerg was not really appealing to me. They were aliens, very (not to offend anyone) grotesque, and strange. Plus, they are the most difficult race to master.
The Protoss would have been a much better choice. They are the advanced civilization, they have (I admit) the coolest and most high-tech animations of all three races, and they are also the easiest race to master. But, they still did not work for me. I do not like going too easy. I like a little challenge.
The Terran is my home race. I use it almost always. They are humans, like us. Mercenaries, but still human. They are incredibly mobile, as they have dropships (now medivacs), versatile infantry choices, and the ability to change the course of battle anywhere anytime. Although people believe the Terran's tendency to "turtle" is a disadvantage, I see it as great strategy. I like defensive gameplay, as it allows more macro as well as longer games. But, should the game become to get too long, I can always (as the Terrans are best known for) make a timing push against my opponent.
Then again, maybe it's just because of the nuke. It's the best ability in the history of Starcraft no doubt about that!

I was Terran in SC1.
But I just fail so much with Terran in SC2 ;P Then I tried to random one time and decided to myself, "This race will be my new race." I got Zerg XD

Played Protoss in BW. Didn't feel like sticking with them for fairly dumb reasons. I didn't like E functioning as the probe and pylon hotkey and I didn't like the split from the dragoon into the stalker and immortal.
Started out with Terran. Liked their new harass options and the fact that an MMM ball was now possible for someone with poor marine micro to use. Found I didn't like their mule/scan mechanic and MBS was actually hindering me more than helping me.
Went zerg and haven't looked back. I am a bit disappointed that their harass options have been scaled back, but i like inject larvae, creep spawning, the ability to quickly tech switch and to control a 200/200 army on one hotkey. And the new, more fluid motions of large groups of zerglings or banelings are just so cool looking.

I am stuck between zerg and protoss as a main. I am uncertain of any solid builds yet, but I am sure once I figure out more about the game I will know what race I want to keep playing with closer to the release date. in the beta stage it is too early to tell my main

I said to myself when SC2 was announced i would be terran. I loved the idea of reapers.
Right now i stay because of how manly the units are and sound (marauder/thor) and Reapers.
|
i played zerg in SC1 because it was fun, now i play terran in SC2 because zerg is just bull shit and protoss seems a bit too tedious

Played SC and heard this:
"Awaken my child, and embrace the glory that is your birthright. Know that I am the Overmind; the eternal will of the Swarm, and that you have been created to serve me."
No other race could replace Zerg in my heart after that.

Well I love rooting for the underdog and after the first few battle reports it looked as though Zerg was it. Looking back it was more likely just that David Kim never used them lol.
After that I started watching streams (before I had a beta key) and often watched a guy named Wr3k (in game name Cynic I believe). He was so fun to watch that I really started to quickly understand Zerg much more than any other race. Once I received my beta key it just felt natural and more comfortable playing Zerg. Haven't looked back since.

I chose random because it takes a combination of all 3 races to handle the skill I bring to the table. How about you?

Random. very fun.. helps me learn a lot about the game and makes me enjoy watching any VOD of any MU

Was toss with SCBW, so I'm doing it again on SCII- I kinda missing being able to do consistently do templar plays/ harass though.

Because they look the most aesthetically pleasing even on the lowest settings. I seriously hate the overall look of the zerg base and have kind of dislike for some of the terran buildings.

Terran because read Mani's quote.

my favorite was zerg > protoss > terran. My 2 sc friends decided to play protoss zerg, thus I am stuck with terran
