Either way, much appreciated. Nothing against Tasteless/Artosis personally, and to be honest I watched their cast of Mind vs. Best just now and it was much better than what I remember from autumn of last year, but there were still too many errors for me to find it palatable. I enjoy trying to improve my Korean while listening to hype AF commentators more than I enjoy spending ~10 seconds after some comments thinking "why would he say that? oh, he was just wrong."

Jealos they might have the occasional error but I guarantee at least Artosis knows more about the game than either of us. I don't doubt that Artosis knows more about the game than I do, but I do think that the amount of obvious errors made by the two of them is below the standard I would expect from someone paid to do this job. Knowing more doesn't make you exempt from judgement based on obvious errors. For example, if a math professor made a calculation error when adding two numbers, a 10-year-old can still point out the fact that he or she was wrong. If that sort of error repeats itself consistently, you have to consider the fact that maybe the professor is just not that good at arithmetic even though they hve a far more expansive knowledge of math than the 10-year-old. One doesn't counteract the other. Additionally, I would say that "knowledge" in high level BW changes much more frequently than it does in high level mathematics. In other words, talking about certain strategies as being common or good options may be wrong NOW even though it was right 10 years ago, for example. So, simply because they have more knowledge doesn't mean that it is the most relevant knowledge. Again, I'd like to reiterate that they did a much better job in this cast than I had seen in the past, which was pleasant to see. Others I've shared this VOD with have said the same thing, including Korean players. I'm not saying that it was terrible or that Artosis doesn't know anything. I'm saying that the amount of errors was still too high for my tastes.

I think some people don't realize how hard it is to be hyping a game, producing an exciting and interesting live cast. It isn't a cast from a replay in your bedroom, it isn't a day9 daily. Sure, you guys may miss that the observer showed a certain tech building is being built, or like in game 2 where you commented that mind should have built a second wraith, when he indeed already had one. However, that shouldn't ruin the game for anyone, it's just what happens when you're trying to cast a game live, while at the same time building a narrative and conversing with tasteless. Jealous, sure they make "mistakes" and it is their job, but these mistakes aren't like a mistake in an email to your boss, that you had time to yourself to prepare. A mistake for tastosis would be something like saying something offensive on air, or being so boring that viewership drops. Not miscalling a build order, or an engagement. Tastosis are the best in the business, and it shows. Anyone who thinks that they can do better is free to do so. I'm sure tastosis is ready to step aside when the time comes for some new young buck to scrape their crusty old asses out of their chairs and end their legacy, but until then, I'll be appreciating all the hard work and love they put into bringing StarCraft to us for our enjoyment.
