Don't mind Group A's VODs.
They were exported from twitch.
Next time, they won't be.

Thanks for the ultra-fast uploads, Trozz.

I really like the map "mizu de chaud". Lots of potential for interesting builds there.

What I don't get, though, is how come Terrans don't just lift off at the beginning and move their CC to the expansion that has lots of gas. Given how small the map is, they wouldn't lose a lot of time. Sure, that spot is a lot more exposed, but on this map the other two races are pressed to expand quickly. Besides, with some clever building placement and good timing, it should be possible to fend of an early attack.

At the very least TvT should play out like this every game, with both players lifting off, and then playing from the ground.

Another possibility would be to lift off to the corner and thread the workers through the eggs...

In every matchup, a 30 second delay (and it would be 30 seconds) is enough for an early attack to be devastating.

fast lift would lose very hard against any fast exp build, and seeing as how there's no gas in the main, everyone is likely to fast exp.

I'm not sure why fast lift off should lose against any fast expansion build. Fast expansion means the first attack is delayed, and the longer the game goes on the less that initial 30 second delay would matter. The lifting player can still take his own natural and the gas advantage would kick in big time.

Fast lift-off is bad.
Lift off when your main mines out.
You need the money.

I think I could literally beat flash if he started the game by lifting off his cc and moving it to another expansion and I did a fast nexus build onto the same expansion. If you do a 1 base build where you take your gas normally, you still have a hard time pressuring a fast expanding p. As zerg, same thing, you're playing normally while terran is taking a huge delay to his builds.

tvt I guess at the very least you could get some earlier tech that would genuinely be beneficial but even then I'm quite certain the economical disadvantage you'd be putting yourself at would be far worse for you.

If this were true, I don't think any progamer would have ever attempted a 14 CC build, which puts you behind in terms of early defenses by way more than 30 seconds. And I was not suggesting playing off of one base. If you lift off, you either have to fend off an early attack, or the opponent fast expands in response, which gives you time to also expand to the 2-geyser natural above the ramp. I feel that the gas-rich expansion + the two geyser expansion is way better than the regular main + the gas-rich expansion, despite the 30 second delay.
