Well this maybe you know how to counter this kind of Protoss game (im terran).
The protoss starts with range goons and and he keeps bulking units and then he expands a lil late but not too much, and he camps outside of my base with nearly ALL of his units and with several observers he see any possible drop attempt, he rally points his units to the exit of my base suddenly he starts expoint like HELL!, and when i scan this im pretty much in a hurry to stop him or else ill be overwhelmed so most of the time i grab like 8 SCVs in the front, all my tanks and vultures and Attack "NaDa Style" but since ALL of his units are waiting for me and he is expecting me to do this he rape my ass bigtime.
If i try to move his units back its pretty hard because if i siege with no mines enough and turrets he attacks and generally beat my ass, and if i start a turtle push from my main he will have an unstopabble economy.
So what do should i do?, i thinked about mass drop (4+dropships) to force him spread his units but its risky if he surrounds me with obs.

Don't try to do anything "Nada style"
Maybe you should build turrets to get his observers out of your base, then go cliff dropping with gols/tanks

his units can only get so close...I'll assume it's LT so try to stick tanks on your cliff if you think the protoss is going to do that, the tanks with the extra range should distance the protoss a bit.
get your ebay up for turrets to kill his obs and if he's got all his units at your entrance try maybe to get an expansion secured some where else and maybe harass his main with tank/vul/gol drops to make him spread his units out

macro better and or push slower to exp --;

just work on more harass, if he cannot build that many units due to low econ your in good shape, then after you have done this, match him for expos and go nada style and you should be ok

i dont see how he can possibly do that vs your ledge advantage... 1 tank is enough to push his units far away from your base. Just do standard terran...?

baal u just need to play WAY more games. If a protoss is expoing everywhere he will have no units to stop a push. Oh also its a good idea to make factorys.

I know exactly what you are talking about - good macro toss is like the bitch itself to stop.
Basicly you can rule out vulture harass, because every toss woth his $2 will have 2 cannons at every exp, but the key is still harass while slowpushing if his army match yours..do mass drops while pushing and genrerally be the gayest you can.

i cant vult harass because his semi circle is so closed that the vults rarely will come out of there alive, i think ill kill obs and siege outside of his vision, maybe with the confussion i can win a lil advantage.

You should probably be pushing out faster than you already are to establish some map control. It's all about map control. Get a few tanks (6-8) a dozen vultures and start pushin.' Probably wanna defend your mins though because most good protosses drop and try to hurt your economy while you are busy pushin'

baal if I'm reading you right, toss is keeping his goons at home long enough to block a 2 fac vult build, making Cas's advice kind of irrelevant.
Either way, try fast expanding. That would certainly stop that particular toss build from doing shit. You'd have just as much trouble with other shit, but if you get sick of losing to that, fast expanding is a sure way to lose to something else, at the least.

vulture micro early game wont let it come that far because his eco will sux ass and when ur done annoying him with vultures u should have set up an expand alrdy and be massing urself so he wont be able to camp because u have the upper advantage ~~

IF you play a decent toss, here are the options I see :
- 1 fact exp.
Research siege first. build 2nd fact quickly search mine.
As soon as you get exp running, get 4 more fact. If you do that your army will be stronger than his. Your push will be quite easy (unless you go out after 20min.)
BUT you should be careful of : rush drop DT, drop reaver, 8goons+drop4zealot.
- 2 fact vult rush
you have to micro like hell. If you can't do any damage, you may leave the game immediately.
- 2 fact push
Very difficult. Especially if you do nothing else.
Toss will delay your push while expanding
- 1 fact drop
Won't work unless you are Boxer. Or unless opponent goes for a gay drop strat and is away from his base when u come.
The main advice I can give is : Don't go for only one strat.
You have to push, while you drop his main, while you vult rush his exp...
If you push or drop or vult rush, most of time you'll loose.
My 2 cents.

About your problem , it looks like you can expo before the protoss.Do it and start your push ASAP.Nada style(as it really is Nada style to stay in his base and leave with a lot of tanks) is really lame IMO .There's something called Chrh style ,leaving with 4-5t/4-5 vulcs ASAP and start the invasion from the start .This is much better .

how would a moderate drop in his base or wherever not work? if he has obs to see drop he's going to have units in his base, but if he has units in his base he's lacking units in his 'contain' so you could simply push him out. am i wrong?

It is cost effecient. U need speed shutlle mid game vs such terrans. Dropships cost money and ur using units to. Its yust a good reaction to get speed shutlle.

9 and *cringe* 6 are very easy to get contained on.
The main thing I can tell you is that you are not being aggressive enough.
It seems to me that you must be doing a 2 fac Rush style build and Not really using it.. Just sitting back to much. With Terran you have got to get on his ass and stay there .. TvP is all about control.
if protoss gains control you are screwed .
The best thing to do When being contained is to push and push fast . You have to Force the protoss player to spend resources rebuilding units as opposed to expanding. The more time you sit idle the more expansions he will get .
However lets say you manage to kill 4-5 units every so often then that is a Nexus he couldve made..
it Costs a great deal to get a nexus some pylons a few cannons the probes and gateways up at an expansion. You need to force him to cut back on either units or structures . If you are pinned in .. Push hard to the nearest expansion to you While doing dual armory Ups .
Expand there and Macro like a 2 dollar hooker on dime night
You should be expecting him to go carriers. so use whatever strategy works for you vs them . I prefer Goliaths . The key imo is to keep him fighting you at all times. When he pulls back you push forward.. When he attacks you Hold your ground Then push as he limps off.

i find vulture harassment to be quite sexy and prevents containment for the most part, because i got his troops gaurding his expansions/chasing after me. but it does require a lot of multitasking so i dont know if i'd recommend it to you because of that. but drops are nice too. i often 3ds drop people's cliffs, ungaurded expansions and such. and ofcourse push strong, and when a toss attacks ur push and lets say... u lose 2/5 ur stuff, but he walks away with nothing. then gogo! move ur push into his front yard. that will allow u to either end game or at least take down a few expands. which u should expand soon after going out.
use the vultures luke

Basically get good with teh vultures. But anyways 1 fac->1starport should do fine with 2 tanks and drop ship, just go for the probes, if he expanded cliff his ledge, and also be multitasking at the same time, like builidng vults/tanks/expo and getting ready to push. micro the drops ships/tanks though it will help. Always try to sneak vultures in and around his bases/expos.
