There's no specific way to increase your speed than to simply practice. If you have Skype, you could always be on call with a friend, play a game with your friend as an obs, have the opponent unvision your friend, and your friend could be reminding you while on call to not forget to macro and attack, or keep up with expos, or do other things that are APM-intensive.
I wasn't abnormally fast when I began playing or anything, probably barely 100 APM at 40% D+ level back in '06, but I would always use nothing but hotkeys. I never bothered to click to make units, such as going down to the bottom right corner to click to make Vultures, Marines, Tanks, and what have you. That will definitely get things done faster. Then simply practice getting a good set of hotkeys going, where you're actually using those hotkeys. Maybe if you're Terran, use 3-4 for CC, 5-6-7-8 as Barracks/Factories, and what not.
This is getting to be sort of a long post, but I have 300+ APM right now, and my overall skill level is still a work-in-progress. Raising your APM to a acceptable level for competitive gameplay will simply come with time and repetition, but hear it from me, a borderline D+/C- player with 300+ APM that raising your APM isn't exactly the best. Mechanics will always beat speed, and speed will simply follow mechanics.

Does anyone know where I can find a replay of Reach Vs. Jaedong? Thanks!

Is there any chance of the Brood War practice partner thread being remade with a script? Could it be placed somewhere more-visible to the general public?

how do ii get max range out of my mutas?
also is it effective to press hold before the mutas are in range?
|
hold or attack move or rightclick generally if you have a ton of mutas and you don't mind the damage spreading out a little bit use hold. if you're trying to target something specific, hit a and leftclick on it, that way if you misclick you'll still fire alternately you can rightclick stuff but that's harder patrol can also be used but attackmove does the same thing so there's no reason. patrol is used for killing scourge though, hit p and click slightly in front of your mutas and they'll turn around and fire. you can also hit patrol and click on your mutas, but then one of your mutas won't fire
try to hit hold as close to max range as possible, otherwise your mutas decelerate. it doesn't really matter as long as you're close enough though

FF:Games --> Hotkey
Hopefully it is the same one you are looking for. But either way don't stop there. Download all 890mb the guy has. Do it. Do it!

Can some one remind me of the reason for duds? The whole purpose of video games is that there is minimal randomness. Duds seem like an attempt to deliberately introduce randomness.
+ Show Spoiler +warcraft 3 has infamous randomness. Especially in Orc vs Orc if one blademaster gets a crit at the top of dmg range and the other blademaster gets a crit at the lower end of dmg range. Same for items.
|
duds? as in scarabs? scarabs aren't really that random, if you've played the game for a while you can generally tell whether a scarab is or isn't going to hit edit: sometimes you'll get something crazy but generally they're fairly predictable it's like getting used to goon ai mechanics, if you've had a lot of practice it's really rare to see goons get stuck, but for new players it's pretty common for their goons to bug out while they're trying to micro

Exactly. Everyone complaining about scarab randomness actually knows this, but complains just because it's fun and they can blame it on randomness instead of player skill. Granted it's a bit random at times, but it can mostly be controlled by the direction you come from, the direction of worker retreat path, obstacles and opponent's units - you have to take everything into account and find the best spot, and it's usually not the most obvious one.
and for someone who asked how to increase apm (don't know what race you are), I used to use this map for it (it's not fully finished/balanced, but it's ok): http://www.mediafire.com/?mm8shu62bbp6rr2
Kill the zergs on the top while keeping the probe alive (no shields and 60 hp like an scv, being chased by scvs), you have an expo a bit up. This map trains multitasking, it's really hard to keep the probe alive, macro and attack/micro.
Then this map is nice for mm micro vs zerg (at least the first few levels): http://entropyzero.org/files/training_terran.scx

There is no randomness involved there are just so many variables that its hard to account for, but a good player can take smarter risks and shoot from angels that will more likely hit...

Maybe he is talking about the 1/256 miss chance?

Is preparing reaver tech at 170ish supply after your first big push an over exaggeration?
In PvZ I mean.

In PvZ I mean. Hey, it's never too late to get reavers involved!

I think that supply is probably a bad relative timing for when to get reaver tech. you should probably base it on when you are gonna be pushing out to kill zerg bases with your big army and need defense from swarm counter attacks.
