Puts the achievements of the old schoolers nicely into perspective. I find it really heartwarming to see people like ChoJJa and GoodFriend up so high on the list while Bisu, Jaedong and Flash are all pretty low. Just makes you respect these old schoolers even more!
Naturally the new schoolers will eventually begin to catch up, but Nada's streak is still out of this world!
Not to discredit the achievements of the older players but I'd bet the reason nobody recent has had such a long streak as the older players is because starcraft is significantly more competitive than it was when Boxer and Nada started playing. I wouldn't be surprised if the reign of newer players end in the next 6-12 months.

It's not really fair to compare streaks from old school progamers to recent. Scoring and ranking in KeSPA went through a lot of changes over the years. It was a lot easier to stay on top back in BoxeR/NaDa days because points lasted longer than they do now. Usually it'd take a slumping player atleast 3/4 months before they start falling off the charts, while now it only takes 2 months. Also back then different leagues use to have different weight on points... for example, WCG use to give shit-tons of points. I don't think they give any points anymore if u win WCG (not sure about WCG Korea though). MSL use to have less weight than OSL too, now they're the same (or about the same)... etc etc.
It's kind of sad to see GoodFriend up there so high on the list without ever having won a starleague. That loss to July where he was up 2-0 and ended up losing 2-3 must have been heartbreaking. Even though I'm a July fan I can say this. he was one of the very best Terran players during his time.

Even Boxer and Savior admitted that in an interview, saying how they were much better players now comparing to who they had been in the past (even during their primes). So yea, I do believe you had a point there.

This, plus the changes in the point system (which used to count on a yearly basis), plus the shear number of games people play now make it easier to catch up / fall back.

Yeah it would of been heartbreaking. In imaginary land where Goodfriend went 2-0 then lost the next three sets. But in THIS land, good friend took game 1, lost 2, 3, won 4, and lost 5.
Of all the players who made the top 10 of not just one but all 3 streaks lists, Chojja is by far the least talked about/respected player than everybody else. What seen here demonstrates just how incredibly good he used to be, and at the same time how awfully underrated he was.

In the very beginning I wanted to count top 5 streaks, but after looking at Rankings I found out that some of this progamers dropped to the 6th rank and then returned to TOP-5. For example, iloveoov was 18 months in TOP-5, then one month he was TOP-6 and then he was 11 months in TOP-5. Such a counting makes streaks longer

Why did he retire >< He was doing ok after he slumped for a long long time, like the wins VS Nada, Leta, Jangbi etc... When he was sent in KTF Ace VS Nada, everyone was laughing at him. But he delivered!

87/94 months is unbeatable. Nada has almost 2 years ahead of second placed.
It is definitely harder to stay no.1 now when your achievments last shorter period of time, but still nothing can beat 7.25 years among the best. Nada spent 1/3 of his life as highest level starcraft progamer.

Poor Bisu/Stork both only lasted 2 months at 1st place , damn you Dragoon AI and Reaver scarab pathfinding why must thou never receive a patch, shuttles firing scarabs was patched sure np but why, why o'cruel world. xD

I put a phrase "(including August 2009)" after these streaks. Others are dead.
